Straightness Training / Academic Art of Riding

Anyone else here interested in these?

I have started taking lessons with my gelding in ART but of course the basis of it is ST. I’m very interested in these and can’t wait my next lesson!

Here is a link to one video by Marijke de Jong, who is teaching Straightness Training here in Europe. I guess there are other teachers in US?

Can you explain a bit? I do not want to sign into the link.

ART is very old “form” of riding and handling the horse by the old horse masters. ST is the basis of it, different types of exercises to straighthen the horse. The basis of it is called LFS and the letters stand for Lateral bending, Forward-down tendency and Stepping under. All exercises start from work in-hand with the cavesson.

When the horse is capable of stepping under correctly, it can perform some high school dressage like piaffe, or levade.

Me and my horse are in point where we do work in-hand and I try to straighthen him so he will be capable of bend equally on both sides.
