I’m in Canada but CBC Rio app is showing live streaming with no problems or passwords required. Might be worth a try? So far very pleased as it is working and easy to navigate. Even when sitting in a parking lot on my iPhone
Crap I posted this in the wrong thread first time around but if you have a Roku wifi tv, they set up a olympics app and they have ALL of the streams. And it doesn’t seem to have the lag times the computer one does. You still need a cable log in though.

Just watched the first Dressage ride. Jessica Phoenix on A Little Romance. The NBC Olympics website sign-on process was a bit annoying. I had tested it a day or two ago, and thought it would remember me. It didn’t. It popped up a box with my Cable provider’s name, but I still had to select it again from the dropdown box. Then it tried to “help” by providing my email address, but it wasn’t the one associate with my cable TV account, so I had to change it. After entering my password, I was able to view with no problems. They have commentators. No on-screen name of horse and rider, no on-screen scoring, and no on-screen link to start times that I could see.[/QUOTE]
Whenever I try to log in with my Direct TV account it just goes back to the Sign In window. So frustrating.
Imagine me screaming and tearing my hair out…
I have tried everything I can think of. My connection is on for about 5 seconds, then goes off for about 30 seconds.
I have removed ad block and turned off my firewall. No change
I have downloaded flash player (again). No change.
I have downloaded Safari (I always use Google Chrome, but I thought that, perhaps Safari might work better.) No change
I am a DISH Network person and I have been asked for, and provided, my password.
I am thinking of getting SLING (the $25 is worth it if my problems are solved.) But I do not know if it is my computer
Anyone have any suggestions?
(Since I started this post, I have lost the connection and it has not come back on.
What if I try Hola???
HELP!
Equibrit always has helpful suggestions. I don’t know if this will work for you, but I find the DISH people will lean over BACKWARDS to help. Call them and have them walk you through. I cannot navigate my way through this stuff anymore, and even I was able to do this.
I’m in the same boat here. For some reason, nothing will play well on my Apple TV (which streams everything else just fine). Ditto on my laptop. I got about an hour of the men’s gymnastics yesterday thanks to Hola, but its totally not working today.
I was hoping to watch complete live streams, like they used to have via the NBC Live Extra app. I really don’t want to have to go through multiple feeds from the gymnastics competition, nor do I want to see commercials every 5 minutes in prime time or on the network coverage that bounces back and forth between events. Normally, you can only see the complete day’s equestrian competition via the live stream.
Kinda bummed, since I might just move on to watching other stuff and forget about the Olympics this year. The frustration is canceling out the enjoyment.
I can stream tv shows and movies just fine via Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime so I doubt its my internet connection.

I have DirecTV and it took me a couple of tries to get in. I got an error at first.
Has anyone found a way to access the BBC’s coverage? I know for the London games there was a back door way to log in - as if you had a British IP… They did such a great job with the equestrian events!
Sling Blue not working today (Sunday). I mean it gives NBC sports programming channel and USA programming channel, but neither are showing dressage.
Unless I’m doing something really wrong, that is.
^I just signed up for SlingBlue and I couldn’t find Equestrian, either. But cross country is on the schedule for USA tomorrow! So I’m still thinking the SlingTV will be well worth the trial.
aregard, it could be because they are on a lunch break! The proper event should come up, but it should say something like return shortly. By my reckoning, it should be 12:15 ish pm est.
When Hola finds the required country for a page, there’s usually a little pop-down that says “Did this work” and you can click yes or no. I had to click no once then it reloaded and worked. I think sometimes in has to use a new route. Might be worth a try?
Lunch break is over.

A VPN service like Strong VPN or ExpressVPN will do it. Alternately, you can try a proxy server like Hola or Unblock US.
Google offers plenty of instructions for setting any of these up. Read their terms and figure out which one makes the most sense for you (I don’t like the terms of Hola’s free service, for example, but plenty of others seem comfortable with it).
Some of these have fees, but all very reasonable.
Thanks for the tip on Sling Blue! We don’t have cable and I really wanted to watch more Olympics than stupid cycling, so my husband caved and let me sign up for Sling. Equestrian on USA at 2:30!
SO found this link for me. I’m watching the BBC coverage:

If you can get a Canadian IP, do it and watch CBC. They have been fantastic! and I can switch from one sport to the next, no problem… it does slow down if I try to stream two events at the same time…
But I think CBC heard us loud and clear when they did a lousy job for PanAm (in our back door no less)… so far, everything is on and streaming well. Plus I can also sit in my living room with my laptop and watch other events on TV.
We are spoiled so far!
You could use a combination of one free week of Sling and one of PlayStation to cobble together two weeks. According to this article the Playstation subscription will even allow you to access the live stream.

Why is it that the ads always work??? Even on a webpage, the ads seem to load first.
OMG. Just tried to tune in to x/c and am getting “Coverage not available at this time”
Am I the only one? (Have DISH network)
Signed up for sling blue but not seeing where it will show eventing anywhere.
