Street Cry

Because of the other topic on Winx, I was looking at Street Cry and came across this really interesting video in the article from Blood Horse. The video on this page is about training the progeny of Street Cry and has some really beautiful footage of Street Cry himself:

What a gorgeous horse.

Thanks for the link. We’ve had very good luck with Street Cry. We bred to him his first year at stud and got a filly who became a stakes placed winner and the dam of Paid Up Subscriber. When we sold that mare we bought another Street Cry mare who has a beautiful Hard Spun filly for us this year.

Thanks for that, PeteyPie.
I stopped at Darley a few years ago - Street Cry in one paddock, right next to Medaglia D’oro.
Awesome to see them right next to each other. Of course imagining them talking about their daughters.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting point about how Machiavellian progeny tended to take after the mare, this seems to be common with Street Cry offspring as well. I have a Street Cry gelding out of a Kris S mare, and he looks very much like his dam…as does Zenyatta (same cross), Street Boss, Winx, etc.

Does anyone know what happened to him? All the articles I read refer vaguely to a neurological problem. That is such a broad area. In one article, it sounds like something which came on suddenly, because it mentioned that he was having trouble remaining on his feet. I wonder if it was an injury, in which case they might not have known what happened.
