Stretching the elastic panel on field boots

Since buying my Ariat Volant boots last year, I’ve started running again and my calves have muscled up such that my boots are uncomfortably tight. These boots have an elastic panel running alongside the zipper up the length of the boot. Does anyone know if it’s possible to stretch this panel without compromising the zipper?

It won’t hold the stretch… it’ll go back to “normal” without pressure on it.

What about some boot stretch to encourage the leather to stretch and mold a bit?

I don’t think you can “permanently” stretch the elastic without damaging it.

Call Pisano’s and see what they suggest; great boot repair company. You can ship the boots to them and maybe they can replace the zippers with an overall wider piece of material. Maybe they can put in an elastic gusset. (610) 436-4883

I don’t think stretching would work, but what about replacing it with a wider elastic panel?

I would see if the stretch panels could be let out. We have done this before and put the boot on a stretcher. It did work but does depend on how much room you need.
