Stubben Artus - Anyone have one? Likes/Dislikes?

I’m thinking of buying a Stubben Artus saddle that I saw on CL for a very fair price. I did try it and it fits my horse and me quite well. Anyone have one and what is your opinion? Do you like it? Wish you hadn’t bought it? So far, the only thing I don’t like is the London color :dead: and am thinking of looking into dyeing it darker. Thanks!

I’ve had one for over a decade. Well made saddle, typical Stubben, though: provides very little support. I like mine as I am used to it, but there’s not much supporting you in the tack. I’m quite a strong rider physically (and have ridden in this saddle for years), but other (skilled) rider friends of mine find it very difficult to even keep themselves out of the tack in galloping position or over a fence when riding in this saddle.

If you like a cushy saddle, it is not the one for you - it is very much a minimalistic jumping saddle in its construction. If you have a strong position, however, then go for it: Stubbens seem to last forever!
