Stubben Juventus

Has anyone ridden in a Stubben Juventus?

I was very hopeful that the Prestige Lucky Idol junior dressage saddle would be the right fit. Unfortunately, the seat doesn’t fit me. The Prestige Roma is the same dressage saddle with more seat options but to get the flap length would be a custom build without the option of trying a Roma in the right seat size first because it is a pretty rare saddle to find used.

Pony is build like a super narrow TB with large hollows and slightly downhill with only 19" of surface area for a saddle so the number of options is frustratingly short.

I have a stubben rep bringing by a Juventus hopefully in the next few weeks. I would love to hear what your experience has been, any challenges, and if you resold it how you felt it held it’s value. Stubben isn’t a brand that comes to mind with strong resale so that is a light concern that I could spend $2.5k and it could go for little to nothing in a few years later.

They feel small. I’m 5’1" and the 17" I rode in felt snug. You can find them used for much less than the $2.5K you mention. But those new/modern ones might have a tree your horse likes better. No matter what, I don’t think this saddle will hold its value. That’s true of Stubbens (perhaps unfairly so). It will be true of this saddle because it’s small and generally considered a kid’s saddle.

I have one and love it! I’m 5’2". I added the biomex seat and it is super comfortable and has helped my lower back pain. My horse is a thoroughbred (small, not shark finned) and he seems very comfortable in it.
I got mine all black, no brown trim or rhinestones.

By any chance have you also sat in a Prestige Lucky? I’m 100 lbs so everyone assured me that the Lucky would be an easy fit but it was definitely too small. The Lucky is a 16" on paper but I’m told it fits like a 17" so I’m worried a 17" Juventus may fit too snugly.

For every Prestige dressage and jump saddle I fit (dozens), the sizing went like this:
16" = true
17" = 17.5"
18" = true

Thank you. If that’s the case, a 17" Roma is likely too big. I typically ride in a 17" or a more open 16.5". I’ve never sat in a 17.5" that felt like a good fit. It’s a shame, the Lucky is a really great deal and a stunning saddle.
