I am looking at a Stubben Scandica DL, It has a length of 16" and a flap width of 13". It is also a 19" saddle. My question is does this sound like it would be appropriate for a tall rider (6β-1")
What size jump saddle do you ride in? I ride in the same size saddle, dressage or jumping, but not everyone does.
Iβm pretty sure that is the model I have. Itβs specifically made for shorter riders. I am 5β3 and the flap is slightly shorter than would be ideal for me. I would guess you would want at least an 18" flap and maybe longer.
How long is your inseam? I would think 16 inches might be too short. Can you measure the saddle you ride in now and compare?
Yes, my experience with the Scandica is that it was/is made for shorter riders (in other words I liked it.) A 16 inch flap was the absolute maximum for me, and my last saddle has a 14 1/2 inch flap.
A too-short flap will drive you bananas if it keeps catching on the top of your boot. Measure carefully!
Loved my scandica made for my stubby legs and need to ride w shorter stirrups because dressage length made me feel naked
