Anyone have any idea what the cm measurements are roughly the equivalent of? Eg, what would be the rough equivalent of a medium gullet?

I think 30cm? Someone correct me if I am wrong. Their ‘wide’ is a 32cm, but I have heard that is not that wide.
However… my wide guy is fitted (seen by a prof fitter) in a 30cm.
For anyone who has been dragging their feet on getting a Stubben… MHO… don’t – I got the Stubben Zaria last month and the difference in my horse’s way of going is astronomical… He was in a fitted Kieffer but it just doesn’t compare; the Stubben gave him extraordinary freedom of the shoulder and some of the bobbles I had with him I thought were rider/trainer issues disappeared. He had some stickiness and reluctance to come through the bridle and has really turned around in such a short time.

Bah. Too afraid to take a flyer on a saddle without a better idea of fit. Esp because I need a forward flap and there aren’t that may options. Thanks for the info, though.
You could call Stubben and ask. Measure your horse and call in the measurements and see if they have anything that will work for you.
What does “NT” mean in Stubben-speak?
New tree.
Thank you!
Is there one particular model that has more shoulder room than the others? My forward flap Stubben Roxanne fit my horse well over the withers but pinched in his shoulders.
Thank you!?
I just spent money! Argh!
I am recovering from a herniated disk and have been eyeing biomex but have not found any in my price point. Just snagged a Zaria + biomex for $725. It’s an ugly color…but for comfort (I hope!) I’ll take it (and I did I guess).
For the prices they are charging, it is usually not hard to re-sell them if they do not work out. I bought a Zaria last year that did not work for me. I sold it on ebay for more than I paid. I am looking at dressage saddles this year.
Anyone have experience with Colombos?
I have 31cms which I would describe as medium wide. I have a fairly wide TB and the size fits him and my quite round but not witherless pony.
I bought a Genesis Special. Selling the Scandica I bought last year because it is lovely but has too much knee roll for my stupidly long legs, think the Genesis Special with no knee rolls at all will help with that! I have cut the rolls out of several saddles in the past, I like minimal.
I haven’t seen the Columbos but they look nice. The saddle I bought last year had never even been girthed up. This year’s was clearly a demo and has stirrup marks visible from the pic but I consider that a bit of an advantage, won’t take as long to break in.
They often have something that makes them harder to move. Both of mine have short billets, and the Genesis Special is brown. I don’t care, my jump saddle is brown too so I just won’t have to have as many bridles. I actually prefer the short billets, hate girth buckles near my ankles. But obviously others seem to prefer long as they are much more common in dressage.

Are you sure? I thought with Stubben NT = “new technology”. I have a pair of their NT stirrup leathers.
ETA: Just looked on their site and for saddles it appears it means a narrow twist and short points. http://stubbennorthamerica.com/saddle-typessizes/
NT is narrow twist
also 31cm is not real wide, average , fits my 950lb 14’3" horse with flat short back .
Mine arrived today!
I had not been planning on buying a saddle, however the tree on my Toulouse decided to give out two weeks ago(literally! I felt it pop and separate while I was simply cantering around the ring!). Some terrible customer service later and I decided I was in the market for a new saddle.
Stübben conveniently had an Edelweiss in my budget and size, so I snapped it up! A rough glance says that it fits my guy, however considering he managed to pull a shoe today I guess I’ll have to wait to see how it rides!:lol:
