Stubben tree sizes compared to County tree sizes

Hey,

Can anyone tell me how a Stubben 31cm/medium wide tree compares to a County medium wide? Any input in comparing fit is appreciated. Thanks.

Happy riding,
Jessie

I don’t have any actual measurements to share for the jumping saddles, so this may be of limited use, but I can tell you that I have the following saddles that all fit the same horse the same way:

County Stabilizer (jumping saddle) - N tree
Stubben Edelweiss (jumping saddle) - W tree
Stubben Scandica (dressage saddle) - 30cm tree

Based on my experience with County saddles, my assumption is that a MW County will be wider than a MW tree in most other brands. But with that being said, I don’t have any experience with County dressage saddles, only various models of the jumping saddles.

I think my experience is consistent with PNWjumper’s: Stubbens run considerably narrower than County saddles, so that horses taking a narrow County will be wides according to Stubben, and those comfortable in M to W County saddles will find nothing wide enough in Stubben at all. Last I heard-- admittedly a long time (ca. 10 years) ago-- Stubben tree widths stopped at 33 cm, while my mare required 35.

County saddles are very generous in width across the board.

Thanks so much. I appreciate the info.

Happy riding,
Jessie

First Stubbens come in an XW at 34 cm.

My TB fit in a narrow tree County and a 31.5cm tree Stubben the same.
