So I’m stuck at home for at least the next month with a broken leg. I’m looking for any and all suggestions on videos for horse training, riding, epic train wreck threads, (Yes already know about Nick and Celeste threads). I’m a learning junkie, so clinic videos would be great.
Are you a USEF member? The yearly Horsemastership Training series live stream starts tomorrow on USEFNetwork. Plenty more there, too, if you’re the “right kind” of member.
I’ve been watching the Robert Dover clinic. I’m really enjoying it, but it only gets me through a few hours.
I have the fan membership. I’m thinking, considering how much down time I have ahead of me, maybe I should spurge on the full membership this year.
on YouTube, search for HorseTV Global
Jon May is the owner and a horseman who raises Morgans mostly for driving . We have known Jon for thirty some years, really a nice guy
ooh that looks fun. I know absolutely nothing about driving, so I can learn something new
here is an interesting promotional Jon did of the " THE GUISACHAN GATHERING 2018 - THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER"
We have had many Goldens, I never knew that there was one specific place where the breed was founded and when
Martin Clunes’ series: Horsepower
So sorry to hear about your leg.
There are a million horse “vloggers” on YouTube. A lot of them are English, I don’t know why, and some are better than others but they’re a great way to kill time.
Not educational but a horse girl classic: The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit
Where are you? I can provide 3 or 4 sets of harness in need of spring cleaning/conditioning.
LOL. You don’t want me cleaning your tack. I’m a horrible groom. I’ve been too exhausted to do much more than read, watch tv or take naps. I’m hoping, once I can put weight on it again, I can at least get some stuff done around the house before I abandon it again to go riding.
Hah! You beat me to it! I was going to suggest Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit!
Have you seen the movie Buck about Buck Branaman? I loved it.
Is the Horse Power/Road to the Maclay still on USEF? OP- Hope you heal quick!
Here is a link, posted by @risuenaVT in another thread. They are episodes from the BBC series “The Horse in Sport” which came out in the mid 1980’s.
They were obviously filmed prior to high definition television, so the picture quality is not up to today’s standards, but it is enjoyable to watch the equestrian stars of that time.

I’m so sorry to hear about your leg! Ugghh!!!
Youtube. You can watch individual horse shows of all disciplines, various clinics, various trainers’ personal Youtube videos. I used to love Evention TV on Youtube which had good information plus humor.
For an epic fun thread try Horsie Stick Art.
And just in case anyone thinks The Horse in Sport docs are relics of the past, I actually referenced the show jumping one in my lesson the other day, because one of my big issues is I still tend to focus too much on the jumps and panic/react to them (mid 40s adult re-rider problems) and I really appreciated Steinkraus and a few others talking about how the jumps don’t really matter, it’s the approach and departure that make the round. And like, I know that, my instructor and I talk about that all the time, but somehow, it’s now sinking in after watching a documentary from 30+ years ago? Okay, it’s more that I’m jumping enough and consistently enough that my brain is no longer panicking, but still. There is a ton to learn from that old series.
OMG, thank you so much for the link to the Horse in Sport videos. I still have the dressage one on VHS…
Poor you! I can commiserate, I’ve been stuck with a broken foot.
Lots of suggestions here I think I am going to take y’all up on them!
Horse & Country has a 30 day free trial. Lots of good stuff there.
