The problem is that you can’t see microfractures unless the horse is posted. Even then, you have to use a whatever whatever machine that was mentioned in the article to really see them good. The basic conclusion is to rest, but you don’t know the extent of the microfractures or how much rest the horse needs. The article supports progressive loading, periods of rest after heavy exertion (works and racing) and then backing off training once the horse is racing fit. And forget the pointless old school method of long slow miles that do nothing but fatigue the body and pound the legs.
