Stupid cow games

Howdy, western COTH ranchers,

Generally I meander on into the open course pasture, but then I noticed that the gate’s open to the western pasture, too.

Anyhow, in case ya don’t know, I’m an old (any by old, I mean retired – it ain’t got nothin’ to do with my age nor my missin’ teeth) ranch horse who sometimes tells a tale.

Are ya acquainted with team sortin’? I told a story about it. I thought maybe some of ya’ll would like it.

It’s here, thusly: https://countyisland.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/cow-catcher/

Kindest horse regards, with my best ranch manners,

Whiskey

Cute view from the horse! I just saw my first team sorting last weekend. I kinda felt like your horse did!

Howdy, JumpQH – y’all should try it! I mean, there ain’t much point to it, but pointless stuff can also be real fun. I think every horse and rider out to do it at least once.

Best horse regards,
Whiskey

LOL! My horse is sure no cow horse! The first time he came face to face with them, it was not pretty! The first, and only, time I tried to do anything with cattle (another horse), it confirmed that I’m no cowgirl!

My horse was bred for ranch work but only roped for a couple years before going to western and english riding. She definitely misses it when she see my cattle but I don’t rope!

My mom borrowed my cousin’s gelding for a summer. He was a pretty good rope horse and also worked in a feedlot at one time, but it had been years ago.

Danged horse was TERRIFIED of the cows on my parents’ ranch. You wouldn’t think so after he had been roped off of for years, and used on a feedlot! Took him a while to “get used” to them again.
