Styling with mustard yellow dressage pad

Completely frivolous topic, but I’m obsessing about getting a mustard yellow pad for my plain bay boy. I do not look good in mustard myself, so I won’t wear a mustard colored shirt. Curious how others have dressed to coordinate with a mustard yellow pad? I’m thinking browns and navy options, but interested in ideas:).

Navy or emerald green.
A brown shirt would be a lot of “70s meh” for me

Love the idea of navy or green. I think brown breeches would be super pretty.

Sage green. Black accents.

Lemieux did a Dijon mustard yellow a while ago and it looks like they paired it with black in a lot of the photos.

I think a soft grey would be a complimentary accent color.

I have the LeMieux one. Light blue, grey, navy blue all look good with it.

Blues. I also would like brown with it but I’m a big fan of brown.

Lots of good ideas! I hadn’t thought of gray - love that idea! As well as the others:). Excited to play around with things for fun. Most of my pads are cool colors - navy to pale blue and shades of green/teal. But love pics of bay horses like mine in the mustard pads and got one on sale for Labor Day:). I’ll post pics of some outfit combos when I get the pad!

I agree that a soft gray would look very nice and wouldn’t compete with the saddle pad.

That’s definitely much brighter than I was picturing, if that’s indeed the color the OP has. I was imagining a soft, muted gold color, not a bright yellow. I pictured more Grey Poupon than French’s mustard.

So I can definitely see light grey or pale blue working well with that bright yellow.

I have an Eskadron yellow pad and wraps set and I coordinated it with black on my plain bay horse. It looked good, but gray or navy might be interesting too.

Here is the pad I couldn’t resist - more muted, not a bright yellow. Also thinking maybe a plaid breech with a yellow line in it could be neat… It’s going to be fun to style!
