Suave

Curious to know if anyone here knows where the stallion Suave (AP Indy) went? He was last moved to Vinery in Florida in 2011 to replaced Congrats who moved to KY that year. He stood at Darby Dan for a few years prior to 2011.

Did he die, was he exported?, is he still somewhere in the states?

thanks

He has not had any breedings recorded with the Jockey Club since 2011, which was the year before Vinery’s US farms were put on the market and subsequently sold. Also the only year he stood in Florida. He was not mentioned as an active stallion on their roster at any of the US locations when the farm was sold.

Comments on the Bloodhorse article regarding his dam’s death say he was sold to Saudi Arabia, but I cannot confirm nor deny that.

Because I love a good mystery…

What I can confirm (via the Way Back Machine) is that he was listed on the Vinery’s Florida roster in August 2011. There were no captures in September 2011. By October 2011, he was off their roster. He was not consigned via auction, so if he was sold, it must have been private party. If they made any sort of public announcement about it via their webpage, social media etc. (doubtful), it was not captured for posterity by any of the usual places I look.

Crazy. I figured it was a decent mystery as he completely disappeared with no word!
