Subs for Jerry's Harness - bridle?

Suggestions? I haven’t had any luck finding used anywhere.

I am hoping for info from those of you that have/have had or used Jerry’s bridles & also have the equivalent (if it exists) from another maker. I am not looking for “I have a bridle from xxx and I like it.”

Thanks in advance

I have a Royal Oak that i think was one of Jerry’s Harness spin offs. its sitting in my tack room and I should clean it up and sell it, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Its a great bridle and I seemed to have acquired a few more bridles since then.

Thanks - I searched for the name and it looks like they have gone the way of Jerry’s. There are a few reins in inventory but not much else. I can at least look for the name when searching for used, though!

Another bridle brand that is similiar to the Jerry’s Harness is the Bartville Amish bridles. They have a bit smaller buckles which I think look nicer, but the same thick heavy leather that Jerry’s used. I have both bridles and you can almost not tell them apart when they are side by side. I am pretty sure Jerry’s Harness copied the Bartville’s style and since Jerry wasn’t Amish he could set up websites and have on line ordering. The Bartville Saddlery people are Amish so they dont have a website and only accept phone or mail orders. They are not open on Sundays either. If you search this site or google, you can find the phone number for them and call them and ask for a catalog and see for yourself if you like the bridles and strap goods. I personally love them and their bridles hold up for a long time.

Thanks for the info - I think I have seen posts or maybe someone’s blog about a trip to the store.

I just called for a catalog! I am so excited!

I’m probably not that only one but ashamed to say that I have a Jerry’s custom double bridle that I’m hoarding in my home. It was lightly used before the mare wore it was retired. I haven’t brought myself to bring it to the barn to fit it on my new young horse because I’m afraid if it doesn’t fit then I’ll have to do something about it!

I have heard the same about Bartville Amish bridles being of similar quality but couldn’t wrap my brain about phone ordering something like that. I know this isn’t what you are looking for but I ended up with a Bridle2Fit snaffle for my young horse and while leather quality isn’t stellar as Jerry’s it’s pretty good. I don’t believe there is a one to one replacement for him out there yet which is why the double I have is safely tucked away.
