suede/nubuck reins?

I have a set of reins my trainer gave me a few years ago. They are leather wrapped in a suede/nubuck. I finally wore through the outer layer and need to replace them…but I can’t find where they came from (and she can’t remember either! LOL).

They are buckle ends…and 1/2 in width…which seems really hard to find that combo. I tried a pair of calfskin wrapped reins and with the double, I didn’t like having so much bulk in my hands (I have small hands, so narrower reins work better).

I thought I found a place online…but didn’t save the website (not smart of me). Albion looks like they have some, but can’t find a dealer and I am not sure they are buckle ends.

Suggestions on where else to look? Either way I need to find some 1/2in buckle end reins that will work. Thanks!

Dobert Reins. Not sure who is selling them these days though.

If you don’t mind ordering from across the pond, this site lets you choose exactly what color/length/width/buckles/amount of nubuck… you like.

I’m not sure how much shipping would be, but the reins themselves seem very reasonably priced.

Thank you both!
I found the Dobert reins at Equestrian Imports…but the wider size. Looks like Advanced Saddle Fit used to carry them, but are sold out.

Thanks for the other site Inclined! I did go on there are order a set…they will let me know the shipping cost before charging/sending…the reins said 96 pounds…but actually were only 80 pounds when you went to check out! So that will give me a buffer if the shipping is a bit higher. Exactly what I was looking for - thanks so much!!!

You’re welcome! I’m so glad they worked for you!

I have some 1/2 inch Red Barn ones that are divine. Albion also makes some.

Are they nubuck, or calfskin? I have calfskin reins by Red Barn, and also by Arc d’Triomphe. Love the calfskin with the “indented” stops.

Nubuck. Only ones I have ever seen. They’re a tetch short, but I use them anyway. I like them too much!
