Suggestions for corner feeders that are easy to clean?

I’m revamping my stalls and looking for ideas. I feed wet stuff and it seems like the corners of the stalls are constantly NASTY. I just powerwashed everything and am redoing the floors and want something that will be less messy when the feed gets dumped and easy to clean. I currently use the big round feed tubs hanging from rings. I dump feed from the feed hole in the bars, so there’s inevitably some that falls to the floor, goes between the walls etc. Advantage of these is they are easy(ish) to remove and scrub. Disadvantage is the not perfect fit in the corner so there’s stuff everywhere and it’s GROSS. I don’t like the fixed corner feeders because they aren’t removable, and the big fancy swing out ones, while less mess when dumping the feed, also aren’t easy to clean. I was thinking something like this

mounted on a 2x4 with gap just large enough to slide it over would reduce my wall gap and still make for easy removal and cleaning.

What do others use? Suggestions?

I use these: https://www.statelinetack.com/item/fortiflex-corner-feeder-6-gallon/SLT900482/ they fit close to the wall and are easy to remove and clean…

@islgrl are yours mounted to the wall? I had those and hated them because they were a pain to get out to clean so I started looking for other options.

Dow about plain bigger buckets, like we use for water?

Horses tend to eat from them without slinging food around.
Using two per horse, they are easy to snap out to clean for next feeding and hang a full one in its place.

You do need to access them, if thru a bigger feed door or go in with the horse.

I have swing out corner feeders with a plastic corner feeder in each. They aren’t bolted or anything. Aren’t there swing out doors that hold buckets?

I recently went from bucket cages to IRH drop down bucket rings. Instead of a spot weld like most, they have a solid ring that a back plate goes over which is attached to the wall with 4 screws. Designed for 5 gallon flat back buckets. Buckets are held quite securely with only a little play side to side, yet buckets are easily removed for cleaning. They could be easily added to any swing out door or swing out feeder panel. I’m very happy with them.

no, I have four O-rings screwed into the wall and use double ended snaps (and baling twine because the rings were too high and I was too lazy to move them for current horse!)

I have a couple stall where we used this type of feeder, eye bolts in wall then use double end snaps to hook to eye bolts… easy to remove. The black ring dhown in the picture is removable if not needed

I use what clanter has less the black topper. easy to remove and clean.

I think taking the extra minute to dump wet grain into a tub on the floor will eliminate 90% of the mess. I use a low profile black rubber feed pan, and put it on the bare mats where the hay drops. Sometimes I put it on the hay. Horses dribble but lick it all up. I got rid of corner feeder because maresy did seem to dribble on the wall.

But if you are sloppy feeding and get mash between the walls or down the wall no feeding trough will solve the mess you are creating.

actually that is the reason for the removable black ring on the feeder I posted… that ring keeps messy horses from slinging the food out of the feeder

I like you do keep a large rubber feed tub under one horse’s corner hay rack since he appears to enjoy pulling the hay out and letting it drop…and considers hay on the floor contaminated and uneatable …which then gets fed to the neighbor’s goats

I thought OP said they were contributing to mess by tossing wet feed through from the aisle?
