Suggestions needed for BIGGEST cat litter tray/crate existing, lol :)

Well, as some may have read from my previous post, I have a cat that needs to transition from outdoor to indoor cat.

He is a big 18lbs cat, like 24 inches long.

I need a ginormous cat litter box. The one we have now is a standard (24 x 21) but too small for him. He never used it anyway.

But now we need a giant, inviting pleasant litter box :D.

Make myself or any online retailers that might have serious oversize?

Thank you :).

Home Depot … look in the storage ‘container’ area rectangle long …but not too shallow ~

It’s all workable … this will be fine !!!

Nature’s Miracle makes some really huge ones too. I have a very large female who would “miss” in the normal ones and pee in the floor, and the NM ones fixed this. I got the triangle shaped one off Amazon.com.

If you want to go huge, a kiddie pool will do it!

I use storage boxes. They’re maybe … 18x30? Something like that? I like the ones with high sides do the cats don’t pee over the edge. I do cut out a little entry in one short side so they can step in instead of jumping.

Consider purchasing one of those big plastic trays that are used for under washing machines.

Cost $20.00 ? - not expensive …

Place whichever litter box on this tray - to catch any ‘missed a little’ :o/ and or can be used for ‘the litter box’ in special needs cases …will catch any displaced litter too.

We use the small size plastic cement mixing trays you can buy at Lowes, they have a larger size from the one we use. The small tray is 20" wide x 27" long and 6" high.

I’d love to have some of these, just can’t do the price. https://www.amazon.com/Kattails-Kave-Litter-Extra-Large/dp/B014TL1V12/ref=pd_sbs_199_36?ie=UTF8&dpID=519SfAhUCmL&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL160_SR160%2C160&refRID=QYM1BQE67432EQK87RAB

Small kiddie pool

One of those plastic under-the-bed storage boxes?

A small Rubbermaid water trough?

Or one of those plastic tubs for beer n ice? Party tubs, I think they’re called.

That’s what I have for our cat, and it works well. Better than a sand-tray, actually, as the sides are higher.

the bottom of a plastic dog house. similar shape to litter box can use top or not.

One of those X-large round feed pans from Southern States.

An underbed plastic storage box from Walmart.

Try your local Petco, if there is one near you. I saw a HUMONGOUS litter box at mine a couple of years ago. I don’t see it on their website, but their website doesn’t give good info about dimensions.

Good luck with your big guy!

Just get a storage box! Way cheaper and bigger than any commercial litter box.

Indoor arena?

Now that’s a litterbox fit for a cat of your cat’s dimensions. Some cats do get that kind of luxury.

Do you have any pictures of the beast? And a scaling device that will allow us to fully appreciate is gargantuan proportions would be most appreciated.

Haha indoor arena? Oh how I wished I had that, lol :D.
Excellent suggestion!

Thank you everyone for the ‘many’ suggestions :), this weekend, when I have more time, I’ll look into a kiddy pool.

For now he has 3 of those, which I managed to pick up at Petco.

Unfortunately he’s not interested in cat litter at present.
I will empty one and put woodshavings in there.

Fingers crossed.

Maybe try a couple of boxes with a couple types of litter? I love Feline Pine, and if he was a barn cat at any point he might be used to going in horse bedding type stuff!

The plastic sweater storage boxes are nice, too. Much bigger than a litter box, yet still shallow enough to get in and out of. Or look up “under-the-bed” storage containers.

My 30 pounder (also 24 inches from collar to base of tail) enjoyed his storage container with lid for privacy. We cut a hole in the short side. He was declawed so the only thing he would use was crystals cat litter. He pooped & peed like a king.

Another vote for the plastic storage containers. The ones I use are the 35 gallon Sterilites. I cut a “door” in the side with a box cutter. Works great. Plenty of room and so much bigger and cheaper than commercial litter boxes.
