Thank you for clarifying that.

MLM boss babes gotta hustle, even if they’re vets (I guess)

Sorry, I was behind. I thought I had read all the rest of this thread before but clearly if I had I forgot it. Did not mean to bring up a long known point.

Certainly no need for apologies! Good to get all of the scumminess exposed!

How just how INSANE is it that a (fairly respected?) group on FB is schilling this stuff, and just deleting any comments that raise questions about it?

It is upsetting that a group like that is not being ‘honest’ about this product. People think they are talking to vets (people without biases) and they are really talking to the person who makes and sells the product.
As far as commenting goes - on that group no one is allowed to comment but the person who asked the question and the vets. So there is no real ability to point out the vet proclaiming this stuff as amazing is the person who makes it unless you start a new discussion. That new discussion will likely no fit the rules of the group so that is probably the hat that they will hang removing that post on.

It’s easy to forget that even vets aren’t unbiased and that there are bad, unethical ones out there

I’m curious if there are any disclosure rules for vets. Does the licensing board require you to disclose if you have a vested interest in the product you’re selling? Not disclosing is obviously slimy and unethical, which seems to just been the pool we’re swimming in with this product in particular. But is what she’s doing risking her license to practice at all…? @Ghazzu any thoughts?

Licensing boards are variable in their makeup and authority , but pretty much only concerned with complaints from animal owners or health inspectors, or cases where the licensee gets arrested for something.

Ethically, organizations like AVMA and AAEP would probably consider that pimping an unlicensed pharmaceutical in which one had a vested interest (especially without full disclosure) would violate their ethical guidelines, but those organizations have no authority. all they might do would be to terminate your membership.

These sorts of things typically only get notice from the authorities when there’s a spate of animal injuries and/or deaths from a “bad batch”.

I absolutely despise that group. The “advice” is so basic it is downright embarrassing to the vet industry. Knowing who is behind the group makes all the sense in the world now.
