Summit IM joint "supplement"

@Moderator 1

I think it is absolutely disgusting that people are being allowed to push their MLM products here. GSPerfHorses is not only linking to videos with affiliate links to her Summit MLM but you guys approved her to advertise a “class” on essential oils which is just her marketing pitch for another MLM (doterra). Is COTH now a place for people to market their pyramid schemes? Because that’s all this poster does on COTH.

Someone really read this posting, approved it, and thought it was a CLASS? If you click to the website she’s selling doterra and doterra accessories. That’s another WELL KNOWN MLM scheme.

Something is oily all right, more like slimy.

I do not understand why there’s so much hate towards me directly based on a comment I made to another summit user, I am happy you have never been in a place where you desperately needed to find something that worked for your horse. At the end of the day we have the same goals- to keep our horses happy and healthy. I’m always happy to chat and discuss.
Best wishes.

I had a hard time with this myself at first, but it is in the same classification as b12 injectable supplements- which is also allowed without a prescription.

Well let’s look at that.

RX required: https://www.chewy.com/vitamin-b12-cyanocobalamin-injectable/dp/219875

RX required: https://vetapprovedrx.pharmacy/b12-injection-4084.html

RX required: https://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=af962a86-50a8-4ddb-bb05-79bc60808fd4

RX required: https://www.allivet.com/p-5323-cyanocobalamin-vitamin-b-12-1000-mcg-ml-100-ml.aspx?sku=49613

…do we need to continue???

Vitamin B-12 for injection is a prescription drug.

I certainly don’t “hate” you. I don’t know you from Adam’s off ox.
I doubt anyone else posting here “hates” you.
We merely question the hawking of an injectable unapproved animal drug as a nutritional supplement.
And yes, I have made a profession out of keeping horses healthy, which is why I question this bathtub chemistry.
If you want to “chat”, you might start by describing the standard GMPs for the manufacture of injectable products, the credentials of the manufacturers, and the alleged FDA letters mentioned above.

You have another goal. To make money buy sucking COTH members into buying from your MLM scheme

Thanks for this post. Seems like everyone I know is becoming a rep, not just a customer. I didn’t realize it was not FDA approved.

Found this while surfing:

and another video in the collection explaining their entire MLM scheme. I see so many people in my area on FB trying to sell this stuff. I feel like they will have to sell to each other!

On what planet is an injectable substance considered “a dietary supplement”?

Very disappointed to see some really big names jumping on this bandwagon. Sigh

Well the “trainers” ( and I say that loosely) that are pushing this product in my neck of the woods are not people that I would EVER take equine health care advice from. I am glad the vets are pushing back.

Well, that was certainly an interesting rabbithole.

As someone who sells supplements for a living - an injectable is not a supplement governed by NASC or AAFCO. They have less oversight on their products that I do.

I was surprised that this product is not discouraged on the horse vet group on facebook (where only vets can post).

The posts about it seem positive/encouraging.

IIRC, that group is run/moderated/sponsored/(something?) by the vet that sells summit…???

Isn’t it buried back in this thread here that anything negative posted about it on that group, or any questions about studies, efficacy or FDA approval are quickly deleted?

I hope I am not misrecalling!

IMHO, much of the advice given on that group is worth about what it costs, lots of old school and outdated information. I found it very frustrating and unfollowed it.

There is for sure a vet there that has something to do with the product. I did not read long enough to see what that something was… but what you say sounds about right from the posts I read by them.

It is scary that a vet group that people go to for information is supporting something like this.
