But I bet HL’s pay is better, the hours are better, and the patients don’t fly into her lunch.

Yes, and her job is far more glamorous as well. On the other hand, I have free internet access, and can access COTH in between experiments…like I’m doing now!

Geek sometimes my pts come with flies…:lol: I wish I could recruit them to help:lol::lol: It took all 4 of us nurses working just to turn and boost her in the bed… I love my job really I do it pays for my horsie habit and it’s never the same day twice… but some days it is hard on the body that is for sure. She wasn’t even the biggest pt I have taken care of… the biggest was a man who was 745 lbs… THAT required assistance from several units to help move and turn and get out of bed… AND a small crane like device… Now off to work again…

She also imagines Stoker showing his displeasure if she were to tell him she could no longer buy Dumors or carrots due to not working so off she goes.....

That’s cute.

HL brings Stoker to work to help move VERY heavy person in sling/crane thing

:lol::lol:That is a most accurate visual… with the folds spilling over the edge of the sling!!!:lol:Thank you FU you made my night…

And on a TMI note… On the 745lb person the doctor wanted a foley catheter placed on him… 4 nurses looked couldnt’ find “it” and told the Dr if he wanted to find it he could put on a miner’s helmet and look for it himself!!:lol: My job is sooooo glamourous sometimes…

 I think the Wee Spotted Coco weighs less than 745 pounds. Holy Too Much Guacamole, Batman.

God Bless you HL. Seriously.
You deserve a massage or a nice chiro visit after that! Maybe the Dr. could write a script for an Alli IV?
Poor patient… my mare only weighs 785 or so. Wow.

:no: Not Alli… that can cause uncontrollable loose stools… that means turning and cleaning multiple multiple times… even on the bottle of that stuff it reccomends wearing dark clothing and taking a change of clothes with you… My worst night ever in ICU out of 10 pt’s on the unit we had one that weighed 550 lbs… the 745 lb fellow, another that weighed 460lbs (but she was only 5"1" tall) and one that was right at the 600 lb mark… with 5 RN’s on the unit to take care of them all and all of us were 150lbs or less… THAT was a backbreaker of a night let me tell you:yes:

I thank heavens that I have a horse to care for and shovel manure for and toss hay bales for and exercize and… so that DQ will never ever have to know what 500# of human flesh looks like on herself.

We should all go hug our horses.

My paints weigh 750 each. That is a large fellow but then who am I to talk I am not exactly a fly weight.

Well, certainly makes me feel better about my (all natural!) QH butt!

I spent the last 4 days in bed, knocked out from a narsty case of the flu. My eyes are still a little wobbly. I read this as

“My pants weigh 750 each.”

Dat gum, LostFarmer!! Talk about Cement Overalls!!!

:lol::winkgrin::lol::winkgrin::lol::winkgrin::lol:

I tease LC#3 that he needs some lead in his shorts to help him hold the horses. He is 7 and weighs 45 lbs. He is a stringy little twerp. His brother and sisters are built like me. Compact. Short and thick. Not a good thing for girls… I gave them all the genes that they wish they wouldn’t have found. #3 though got his other grandpa’s wirey little frame. Grandpa is 5’-6" and once got up to 145 when he was in the Navy. He was 112 last summer. Those are the genes the girls need not my barrel chest.

So maybe HL patient had some lead in his shorts. I once needed to gain a few pounds to wrestle up a weight at a tournament. I put a roll of quarters in my BVD’s to make weight. You had to be within 10 lbs of the weight and I was a little under that. A quart of water and a roll of quarters and I made it.
