Ah, PP. It is just that I am old enough to have gone through this many times with pets, friends, and a parent. Grieving is a natural process and shouldn’t be avoided. I’ve just been surprised at my emotional reaction to the loss of an ornery cat that I always claimed I didn’t like. It’s been comforting to come here and cry on the virtual shoulders of strangers.

And to top off the sucky day, I just found out that the 35 yo senior citizen at the barn will have to be put down tonight.

So, I’m spending the day at lab trying to keep busy and looking for diversions. Hence the plea for more HSA.

latest update… apparently “trainer” has tried to go to courthouse to have me arrested or sued… since she has no paperwork proving she has any right to horse they told her she was SOL. She has evidently called every barn in the local area… supposedly has a backer with deep pockets to “get that horse back at all costs” even talk of hiring a PI to follow me to find the horse. :eek: I am consulting an attorney to see what charges could be filed against her if my horse disappears… he is insured for 5 figures so it would not be a misdemeanor theft. Maybe the threat of criminal prosecution will alter her thinking. I’m beginning to think my horse will have to permanently stay in hiding either that or I’ll have to pay for 2 stalls one for him and one for me and my shotgun.
