:lol::lol::lol: This is good… My OTTB is really getting a thorough despooking at his witness relocation home!!! Today it was cats fighting and jumping down from the rafters and momma and baby chickens running around his feet while he was in the barn eating grain… he gave a little heads up… eye roll… then I could almost hear him say “awww hell” and went back to eating again…:lol::lol::lol: He did fine for a while then they brought out a goat to milk… no prob with the goat… but when they turned on the compressor to start the milker…that… was a bit much…he didn’t do full out spook but he did to the I’m nervous shimmy…I think he was scared they were going to use it on him!!!:lol::lol: I swear when they put it on the goat his eye’s bugged out a little…:eek: He’s sensitive about his manly parts anyways… (It’s his DON’T touch it…EVER!!!) He was ready to leave the barn and graze far far away from the evil noise making sucking thing…To his credit he just danced a little not full out spook.
I swear this witness relocation program is turning into an excellent despooking program for my boy. :yes:

I hear you! Jasper moved from a typical boarding barn to a backyard pasture a couple years ago. He’s young, but arthritic and mostly retired. 
Anyway, the folks who board him have a girl, about 10. She and her best friend love Jasper and they decided to embark on a summer of TB “despooking” last year. This consisted of shaking bags near him, waving flags around, etc. and then being REALLY impressed by some of the resulting spooks. They are OK kids, though, very careful and never pushed the despooking regiment to where I was worried about Jasper’s sanity or their safety. Jasper loves the girls, too, as he has figured out that following them around making cutest TB face = bottomless pockets yielding treats. :lol:
Also to Jasper’s credit, he has really settled over the last year or so and loves his new digs and life as a country horse/pasture ornament/trail horse. One of my proudest moments was trailriding last year. We came to a scary big jump in the woods and the other two horses we were out with - both much more experienced, more typical trailhorses (pony of indeterminate breed and paint) freaked out and he just looked at the fence and looked at them like, what? why are you freaking out? On the other hand, he’s more than happy to spin and bolt because somebody moved a mounting block 2 feet. :rolleyes:
