Thank you Pony Person… that’s very nice of you to say that. I think we are all cool because we have all taken part in this thread that has inspired us to express our creativity and share our artistic ideas so that others might enjoy them too. How cool is that…

Very cool.

I know y’all hate me for this but here’s a pic from my Easter Day trail ride. The orange flowers are California poppies.

And a little discussion about the day

As I sit here wrapped up in a wool blanket on my sofa viewing your pictures, I have to say that yes, I do hate you for those poppies!
So unfair… Looks like it was lots of fun, though!

Well I have to post that the witness relocation program for my boy is quite possibly the best thing that could have happened to the both of us.

I think we are bonding even more now than before and I feel definately that he trusts me much more that he has before. He is also getting a most excellent despooking program…

For example he is brought into the barn to eat his grain because the other ponies he is with are air ferns and need grain like I need another Krispy Kreme donut…

Well the baby goats are now old enough to be turned out to the pasture to play… and being the city horse that my guy is he hasn’t seen mamma goats much less baby goats which bounce around like they are on springs most of the time. Well my boy is munching on his grain when about 3 of the suckers bound up to him as if to say " WOW he’s big… what’s up mister??" My guy looks up from his grain… gives a startle then looks at me like… “Mom??? uhhh Moooooom…???” With this question in his eye… I just take his halter direct him back to his grain and tell him it’s ok… just keep eating… He puts his head down… looking at me with that one eye as if thinking…“well if you say so…” and he is ok for the next few minutes… until more babies get out of their stall and decide to play ring around the TB… bounce … bounce …bounce all around my guy… baaaing like crazy like they are saying " what cha doin mister… huh huh… whatcha eatin mister… huh huh…

Again I get the head up… side step… pleading look from my guy saying “are you SURE they aren’t going eat me…” By this time I am giggling to myself direct my guy back to his grain tell him it is ok and he continues to finish his grain without incident…

I honestly never thought I would see the day that my horse would eat… from a bucket on the ground untied being circled by several curious baby goats… with a momma chicken and 2 chicks scurring between his legs trying to sneak grain and 2 cat’s jumping from the hay loft above to land right beside my guys head and him just standing there only slightly concerned but not spooking.

He finally finished his grain and started to amble out of the barn… waited for me to open the door and walked out to the pasture with his gaggle of new friends following him… He is a big guy 17.1 hands and he kept looking down and around him and walking very slow trying very hard not to step on the baby goats that were continuing to dance and play around him.

He is trusting me enough that when I tell him it will be ok he visably relaxes, he has become more affectionate… He’s never been a lovey type horse (it would be beneath him:winkgrin:) but he is nudging me for scritches more and more. He keeps the other horses away when I am petting him in the pasture because he doesn’t want to share his time.

I am hoping to get some pics or vids of his new friends playing with him but I am just amazed at how our relationship has grown so much deeper in the last few weeks. I think he is really starting to enjoy his country “vacation” and enjoying just being a horse.

Sorry so long but I just had to share with friends who would understand.

:) Would love to see pics of the bouncy baby goats.

Midlife Crisis: Oh! You are hurting me. That lovely green view. It is all snow and mud here in MI.

I’m so glad for the TB of Mystery!
It sounds like he is learning a lot about life on the farm & loving his human. Hey, maybe when this is all over you can start your own traveling clinic sessions and call them “Bonding While On the Run”, or “Bombproofing Undercover” or even "Your TB & The Good Goat/Baaaad Goat ".

Look out Pat Parelli-you’re about to be bumped from your Natural Horsemanship pedestal…:lol::lol:

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop???

Any good TV addict knows that answer! THREE

And now for some cuteness… Check out Tawna24’s new filly: http://www.marestare.com/goldenventure.php She was born about 8:30 last night! She is out of her Hanoverian mare, Duenken (aka “Hailey”), by her stallion, Maxamillion (Dutch Warmblood/American Saddlebreed–buckskin tobiano) Ain’t she CUTE!!!

Too funny. :lol::lol::lol:

Oh, I think I loff him  As I’ve been reading your post, Christmas, a gray kitty who made herself known on Christmas day some years ago, has been sitting on my lap. She was tiny and wild when she arrived and I wondered how she survived the time that she’d hidden from us until she trusted us enough to just let us see her. Then one morning, after I fed everyone in the barn, she appeared again and started eating the flax out of my alpha boss mare’s feed tub while my mare was eating. Boudicca (boss mare) was very careful of her, as she has always been towards the hound puppies who are raised in the barn and the baby goats we used to have. Once when I was hunting Boudicca, she saw a hound come to a jump just as she was taking off to jump. To avoid hurting the hound she dropped herself on the jump. Then, she waited for me to get up and dust myself off and climb back on  I was amazed she could stop all that forward momentum, but she did so she wouldn’t hurt the hound.

I’m glad so much good is coming of this after that harrowing escape from the evil horse thief

HL, this is exactly why FU kicked you in the butt when you were going to leave…

Stick art is hard. I tried to add the boat.
