Aw thatās sweet. How is your horse after all this moving?
He is doing absolutely great!! I got off work this am and went straight out to the barn and just hung around with my guy for a while. I was going to ride but trainer had to leave the farm and I donāt think it is safe to ride completely alone (especially when you are as accident prone as I am:lol:) Vet was going to come out later to do his hocks so he and I just hung out. I groomed him in his stall, and then we just stood side by side and looked out his dutch door of his stall enjoying the breeze. He rested his chin on top of my head and just let out this big sigh. It was soo sweet!!!. We just leaned on each other and enjoyed the breeze. I took him out for a bit of a hand graze and strolled around the farm a bit. Then he went back in his stall and I sat in front of his dutch door to finish my bookā¦ He wanted to play some more because he kept reaching down and grabbing the hood of my hoodie jacketā¦ he would raise it upā¦ up ā¦upā¦ until my arms wanted to raiseā¦ then he would let goā¦ only to to it againā¦ upā¦upā¦upā¦ let goā¦ This game went on for a bit then he decided he didnāt like my hair clip and tried to play hairstylist and help me remove itā¦:lol: All very gentlyā¦ then he just leaned his head down and āhelpedā me read my bookā¦ I think he liked how it ended:lol::lol::lol::lol: I spent several hours on a sunny breezy day just hanging out with my boy and it was just as satisfying as riding him around a course for me:yes:.
He had acupuncture for the first time last Thursdayā¦ The acupuncturist is also a vet and it amazed me how well she had him pegged. She treated him but he was so sensitive in some parts that he was kicking out with both barrelsā¦ so she didnāt get to do as many points as she wanted. BUT to see how stiff he was the day she did it to how wonderful he was moving when I jogged him out to have his hocks evaluated a couple of days later was incredible!! I am a believer whole heartedly!!! I have not had any treatment make such a noticeable difference in a short amt of time.
I also learned how to give an IV injection todayā¦ the vet( my friends husband) let me give the sedation injection since I said I wanted to learn how to be able to just in case. I got the vein the first try!!! (It helps I guess that I poke humans with needles to draw blood every day at work so if I can hit the spindly veins of an 80 yo lady who is dehydrated I should be able to hit the big fat jugular of a horse:lol::lol:)
So it has been a red letter day in alterlicouslandā¦ butterfly farts and allā¦
