* (Super-fun horsey stick art!!)

That’s okay! New artists are always welcome.

While waiting for COTH General Hospital to return

It’s spring and the babies are here. But there’s no stallions at our barn so the babies are (trumpets blaring)

Peacocks!!!

Horsie unable to get to bucket because of the baby peacocks.

MLC clinging to horsie’s neck after shoulder in to reining slide transition to avoid trampling babies.

Actually they would be peahens, peacocks, or the generic peafowl.

Yes, I know. And I took artistic license with the mom who is more like a beigy grey. But that doesn’t come across so well in stick art.

Just bumping this up to page 1 again. Nothing to contribute, I am worn out after dealing with 18 kids at summer camp. Good thing I have good camp help.

:sleepy:

And another Chip bump… what ward is next in COTH general hospital??

Jingles please needed. DD was helping a friend of mine clean out her barn today…all was going well until my friend found her under a tree passed out with some vomit nearby. She had just checked on her 30 min prior and she had been fine. Fortunately my friend is an ICU nurse too and scooped her up and took her to the hospital and bullied the nurses into taking her on back vs waiting in the waiting room until I got there since DD couldn’t hold head up and was barely verbal. I got there shortly thereafter and seeing my 14 yo passed out with blue tinged lips scared me to death! Her BP was REALLY REALLY low and they had trouble getting an IV. After a liter if IV fluid she has perked up a bit. Her white counrt is up so now we are waiting for her to go to CT scan to rule out appendicitis. So send happy thoughts my way please.

That’s awful! MASSIVE jingles heading your way!:frowning: :frowning:

All of us are jingling like mad. I’m so sorry to hear this and hope to hear good news soon.

BIG JINGLES!!!

Now forget about us and take care of DD.

Oh, T… I hope K is okay. Jingling like mad. And it wasn’t hot out today either. :frowning: Didn’t she have a “pass out” issue before??? Or maybe I’m mistaken and thinking of someone else.

I almost called you today to see how things were going. Let me know if there is anything I can do… you know I’m only a phone call away and live nearby.

Well home from the hospital… Thank goodness. DD is much better now CT scan was ok she just somehow got dehydrated. She had drank water while she worked today but evidently not enough:(. My friend felt awful but she had just checked on her 20 min or so before she found her and my daughter had said she was fine. She took frequent breaks to cool off during the day so not sure why. She doesn’t sweat very much so maybe that could have contributed. She is feeling much better back to picking at me and making jokes so big relief there. Thanks for all the jingles and well wishes they seemed to have worked.

I had to try really really really hard not to be a total PITA at the hospital though… I kept reminding myself I am a parent now not a nurse… but I confess I did let my inner B#tch fly a couple of times for very good reasons. So Daughter was hungry (ALWAYS a good sign with a teenager:lol:) got her something to eat and now she is resting in her room. What a way to spend your day off from the hospital… in a hospital :sigh:. I had written my previous post from my PDA because I was about to go stir crazy and DD was sleeping.

Thanks so much for the jingles THEY WORK!!!

Just saw this, glad everything is OK HL.

Amwrider DD is going to be in your neck of the woods next week. She is going with my parents to visit my brother in Clearwater and I’m sure they will be seeing the sights in Tampa… I wish I was going too… :sigh:

Glad your daughter is OK…that dehydration can be a b!tch…you can lead a teenager to water but it’s hard to make them drink

Oh my!!! Just saw this HL!! Glad to hear your DD is feeling better. Good for you for letting your inner B*tch fly…sometimes it’s absolutely necessary!!

HL, whew, glad your daughter is ok.

So glad to hear she’s ok, HL!

H-L - so glad your DD is okay! The problem is, that sort of thing can sneak up on you. I remember that often as a kid, when I rode, I wouldn’t dismount, I just fall off by slumping over and passing out (my mother STILL does not know this).

Hope she remembers now to keep a jug of cool water handy at all times, and take breaks, and take it easy!

And you probably need a drink too, but not water?

In my off the forum job I have been known to be a volunteer scout master. One of the boys in our troop is autistic. He is a super kid but has lapses in his brain function. He can tell you WWII naval history like Rainman can do math facts, but he won’t eat or drink unless you tell him. I did not know this at first and he crashed on me 12 miles into a hike. He had water but was not drinking it. Now every time we stop I hand him a water bottle and tell him how much he needs to drink.

To keep this horse related… One time I took 2 pack horses to carry the extra gear. He decided that on the way out the horse should carry him. He road a sawbuck pack saddle with panniers. I swear he was split from stem to stern on horse. The mare was a rough ride at best but no saddle and spread wide it made me hurt to see it. He finally got off after 3 miles and he couldn’t even walk. I asked him about the ride and all I heard was it beat walking. At that time the boy and I made a deal, walk and hike are four letter words and we would not say them. Ride is a good 4 letter word. Of all the boys I have had over the 17 years this kid is my favorite.
