Yes!! I am finally starting to see them… Actually in this clip I was so excited I announced at the end “I SAW IT!!” I think you can hear it:lol:[/QUOTE]

Wow! I watched all the videos! You have him going so quietly and in such a nice rhythm and both of you look like you’re having fun. It can’t get better than that :slight_smile:

Today everyone had his teeth done and a few had some vaccines.

Since my all time favorite vet came I asked her to look at the little chestnut tb I bought at New Holland a few weeks ago. I was worried about buying him b/c one half of his hind end was a little atrophied, he was very thin and I didn’t like the looks of the muscling in his shoulders. On the other hand, he was very kind and quiet and had a beautiful floaty trot; so I broke my rule of only buying unquestionably sound tbs and bought him, after all it was me or a very grim end. Besides, I hoped and rationalized, he’s young and young horses heal well, and if he could produce such a floaty trot he couldn’t be that bad. Since then he gained about a hundred pounds, but nothing has gone to his shoulders and, yikes, I’ve seen him fall twice. So, no surprize when the words “very neurologic” floated into my ears after my vet watched him try to walk in a serpentine. Most likely, he had epm which caused nerve damage which resulted in his shoulder and hip muscles atrophying. The floaty trot I saw is actually a symptom of nerve damage or epm (:confused:) when it is seen with muscle atrophy. :frowning: So, I’ll most likely euthanize this little guy but in the meantime I’ve been coddling him; putting him to bed in a lushly bedded stall, feeding him special feed and letting him hang out with a friend in his own little pasture.

I wish I could make the world right :frowning:

{{{{HUGS}}}}
You’ll know what is the right thing for him and at least he has known kindness.:cry:

Owww, that’s hard. But it’s hard to walk away from them all, sometimes you just do it from your heart. But lesson learned :frowning:

That is a shame, but you are doing the right thing. (((hugs)))

Aww so sad but he’s lucky to have found you be loved for a while. {{{hugs}}} to you.

(((((((HUGS)))))) to you. :cry::cry::cry:

Thank you for all of your kindnesses. :slight_smile: I checked horsey stick art first thing this morning and felt much better. I also double checked the little chestnut this morning and he’s still who he is; however, at this moment he’s in his stall munching away very happily with all of his friends near by, and that’s going to be the tone of his life from now until then. :slight_smile:

SEPowell, big hugs. And bless you, for giving the poor boy a good life at the end.

Fugly Horse

Hey HL…

going back to your head stuck in the fence incident.
Why didn’t you just:

  1. put down the water bottle,
  2. unfasten and remove your helmet,
  3. remove your head from between the boards,
  4. retrieve your helmet and water bottle,
  5. and replace your helmet on your head?
    Inquiring minds want to know!:wink:

Cause I’m not that smart:winkgrin:

Seriously though … the head went through the boards ok I figured it would come back out ok. I was about to just do your list when I found the correct angle with which I could extract myself. I wasn’t stuck that long but was startled when my head wouldn’t fit back through the fence and being a more than a touch claustrophobic kind of freaked out a little not a lot just enough to keep me from thinking logically. :winkgrin:

At least…

you are smart enough to extinguish hospital patients who set themselves on fire!

True but I hope never to have to use that skill again…:lol:

That whole hospital patient flame-up keeps reminding me of Michael Jackson. Guess I’m just showing my age:lol:

HL: Oh goodness we caught them in the middle of afternoon prayer.

FU: Who are they praying to??

Geek: DUH George Morris I ride dressage and even I know who they pray to

PP: That’s a pretty good pic of him though. Are they all wearing rust TS and tall boots?

HL: Yeah they do this like the Muslims several times a day and always in correct attire and form. Lest GM himself come down and smite them for being improperly dressed. We’ll let them finish and continue on with the tour.
