Nice linens? What’s that?

Oh dear, I have saddle envy. And that leads to guilt and shame. JK
So, will you post lots of pics?[/QUOTE]
Why of course I am excited and planning on camping out on my porch till the UPS guy comes… I hope he doesn’t mind getting accosted when he arrives with that ever so distinctive box. :lol:HL giggles and claps and does the new saddle dance But please I don’t want to give you guilt and shame… I will share vicariously with you via pics…
I have to take a nap no sleep yet after working all night but I can share my story of how it went today riding my friends very green icelandic pony… All I can say is I’m glad they are small!!!
Well I went today to help my friend work some of her ponies. They are very green but very small so I agreed to help. All she wanted was some walk, trot, canter, tolt work. I was like " Sure I can do that." after all they are small so if I fall off it can’t be that bad. This was Baby the horse I decided to ride after I tightened my helmet up:winkgrin: All went well in the round pen, so we decided to take them in the pasture to ride for a bit. We put the other ponies and the cow in her smaller paddock… or so we thought. Well the horses pushed down a loose board and walked out of the paddock under the top board. :o We thought no problem we will just walk to the back of the fenceline and WALK back to the barn.
Well at first we couldn’t get the 2 horses we were riding to go much past the run in shed. Then the rest of the herd decided to walk with us so all was well long as all 4 were together. We even tolted a bit and exercised all 4 ponies (They are all usually very very very lazy) We got to the back of the pasture… stopped and watch the neighbor try to catch her paint horse who was having none of it but the slow speed chase, run away was fun to watch.
So we decide to walk back to the barn… at a mosey… well the horses had other ideas. It turned into the pony Ky Derby out there… All of them flat out gallop no breaks all the way back to the barn. It was definately a grab mane hold on and pray kind of moment.
Once I got over the “Oh Sh!t” factor and realized
- I am on wee pony and the gallop is quite comfortable
- I have an oh crap horn to hang on to.
- This was really kind of fun.
I just went with it and yelled WEEEEEEEE!!!
I didn’t hear a thump and a swear behind me so I had to assume my friend was ok. I could faintly hear her giggling as well.
When me came to a skidding halt that any reining horse would be proud of at the barn. I turned around to check on my friend and she was laughing as well. She said “None of them have moved that fast since I imported them” I told her at least we found a way to work all the horses at one time. We were both done after the mad dash but not wanting it to end at that we made them make some small circles around the barn before we got off. It was fun but I know why I don’t work with green green green horses. Oh well it was fun the ponies are very comfortable to ride and despite the raging gallop back to the barn they don’t do anything stupid when you get on, no buck rear or anything else they are just green from not being ridden often or ever being in training other than in Iceland where they were broke to a saddle so all in all they aren’t too bad. I am in one piece until the next time I go to ride again.

Department stores, places like bed, bath and beyond. Look for the package to say things like 250 (or more) thread count, supima/egyptian cotton, sateen weave (not necessary but very nice).
Note on thread count: anything between 250 and 500 will be pretty fine and not up to wild hang-from-the-chandelier sex (don’t ask me how I know this ), but anything over 500 is actually a double weave so you get the softness along with a more durable fabric. But they’re not cheap.
I hope I’m not the only one whose mind hit the gutter there.

After hearing there was a sale at “Amore Linens”, Mr.LF hooks up the team and heads to town. Once he has picked up a ‘few’ nice linens for Mrs. LF he decides to splurge and buy a couple of roses as well…

Also: Please ignore the above posts about bouncing and such.
Ahh, I about choked on my salad, too funny!
I will never again buy linens without thinking of Mr & Mrs LF…
As long as she is not looking to replace the current Mr LF with the newest, younger, higher thread count version of Mr LF, no worries. Let her spend.
 I think I’m a bit too far away for that.
