Thank heaven, there is a guardian angel for Toto
Thank goodness! He does not have anything to prove in the competition ring, he’s done it all!
What a relief. Totilas has earned his place in history, and he has earned his place in retirement. He owes the world nothing.
I will be sad not to see him in competition but this is best for him! Poor thing hasn’t been right for years!
I really don’t understand the sarcasm or the weird concerns some of you have about his retirement… Surprise, surprise?!? They are just doing the right thing every horseman would do.
What were you expecting? They work with the best vets, the best farriers and the best practionners of every discipline you can think of… and every details of Totilas’ life is scrutinised…
Totilas has been well taken cared of since its birth and there is no doubt his care will be the best until he dies. There really is no need to thank god for that…Totilas’ owners have plenty enough of money to take proper care of this fabulous horse. Better care than all of us could ever provide.

yES SO I started a new thread. Tired of all the negativity.
Happy for Toto that he will have some peaceful years instead of having to be trained by Sjef and dragged around to high stress competitions.
I’m super glad for the horse AND for Rath. I hope that this means Rath can now focus on other horses and competition since he won’t have the albatross of Totilas hanging around his neck. No matter what his critics say, I feel like he rode the horse well, but maybe this means he can finally get away from all the drama that has surrounded him the past 4+ years and that Toto will have a chance to just be a regular horse.
I wish this horse a happy, lengthy, healthy retirement. I hope he has great progeny in great hands to carry on his legacy.
It certainly has been interesting to watch him go - with Gal and Rath.
I gotta say, the article is either badly translated or abhorrently written. “Yay” for spell check and all, but “cold” and “could” do not mean the same thing. There is a point to grammar, that is part of why we struggle through it at school, or at least the professional writers should

IMHO, it is because news of his retirement should have happened at least a year ago when he started having issues. It is sad that he had to be paraded on the World stage while lame (that EVERYONE could see), in order for the issue to be investigated and his retirement announced. If he had been retired when he should have been, there probably would be a lot less negativity surrounding it. He should have gone out on top instead of this.
I don’t think anyone is worried about his care during retirement. They are just sad that it took an unfortunate event to get him there.
N2 Saddlery
I was wondering if anyone on this board has tried N2 Saddlery? They are based out of California and the heads of the company I believe were previously associated with Custom Saddlery. I am debating between a Wolfgang Solo from Custom Saddlery or an N2.

Not sure how this question got into this thread - but FWIW - I have had an N2 for 2 years now and I really like it. I have the short outside thigh blocks and when my big guy makes a spook, or when I’m descending a steep hill I feel secure without being locked into the saddle.
