Swedish Stallion, Gabriel?

I just bought a Swedish WB gelding. He is by a stallion named Gabriel, out of a Pomeroy mare. I can find Pomeroy and his line, but I can’t find anything about a Gabriel, either in the SWB Association or SWANA. Anybody know anything about this stallion?

Is the Pommery mare’s name Pomerans? If so, then maybe it’s possible that Gabriel was renamed Braveheart. Braveheart was a Swedish stallion owned by October Farm in B.C. Canada. Pomerans was one of the broodmares the farm used to cross with Braveheart. Not sure if Braveheart was registered with SWANA but maybe there’s somenthing in SWANA’s archives. I think Braveheart’s offspring were considered Canadian Warmbloods. Edited to add that I did a search on Braveheart and found him on allbreed pedigree listed as a 1995 Swedish Warmblood stallion by Galapard out of Alora, if that helps. Other than that, very little information on him.

Wow! Yes - mare’s name is Pomerans! Gabriel by Galapard out of Alora! It must be the same stallion. Cool! Yes my horse is registered with SWANA, not a Canadian Warmblood, but since his pedigree says Gabriel is the sire, he must have been born before the name change.

Thank you - this is very helpful! It also explains why my horse’s name starts with a B instead of a G!

Mondo I have an uncle to your horse, a Galapard son out of an Arab mare. He’s 13 and competing I-1 this year. My trainer bred him and also owned Galapard, she imported him from Flyinge Sud in-utero. Galapard died a couple years ago. I haven’t heard much about Braveheart as a sire, but I’m glad the Galapard lineage is being passed along.

That’s cool! I appreciated besthorseever’s tip, because they were right! I tracked down Braveheart’s owner and the breeder of my horse. She was very happy to hear he’s doing well. (Working 3rd level and schooling some p/p!)

I have your horse’s half sibling. My hunter gelding is also out of Pomerans!!

What do you do with your guy? i’d love to see pics!

Alora’s son was Gabriel but he was renamed Braveheart when purchased by October Farm in Canada. I am the owner of Alora and she turns 30 this month. She’s a fabulous mare and I don’t think I’ll ever have another mare quite like her. I also purchased her two nephews from the same Sire side. Both equally nice temperaments.

If anyone has a mare from her line that they are breeding please contact me.
