My dogs love those chewie sweet potato ‘fries’ - but with all the scares about dog treats from China, I did some research on how to make my own.
They came out really well - they are pretty chewy and the pups love them !
Here’s the recipe :
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
Scrub sweet potatos well - I didn’t bother peeling.
Slice into 1/4 to 1/2 inch ‘planks’, then turn and slice again to make fries.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet with some space in between.
Bake for 3 hours, turning halfway through.
Store in the fridge, they are supposed to keep 3 weeks but these won’t last that long I’m sure.
I used about 4 lbs of potatos, and that was enough fries for 2 2 standard cookie sheets. I picked the loose ones and tried to get the longer ones that were even circumfrence.
