T-post extenders - anyone tried them?

Has anyone tried the T-post extenders (http://www.tpostextender.com/) that you install on top of your existing t-posts to make the fence taller?

I’m bringing my horse home this spring and our existing pasture fencing (t-post and straight wire) is going to be too low for my horse. He will jump a 4’ fence. I plan on installing electro braid on top to hopefully deter him from jumping it. I came across the t-post extenders and wondered if that would be a good way to raise my pasture fence without having to replace every single t-post.

Never heard of these. Hard to get an idea from their website…

We made extenders out of PVC pipe and two hose clamps to get our fence up to 7 feet around the orchards (trying to keep the deer out). PVC can’t take any kind of diagonal tension - it bends - but apart from that it’s a great platform for electric. I don’t know if I’d try to use non-electric wire with it, and I can’t recall the cost per tpost of the two hose clamps and the 6 foot of PVC.

Not really pretty or unobtrusive, but they don’t have a price list on the website either.

Do you know how much they cost?

They work great. just call and they will ship the to your ranch. I think tractor supply will be stock them soon.

We just welded 2’ rebar onto the post to make our chicken yard fence taller.

can’t find pricing anywhere on the net for tpost extenders. looks like a bad sign.

hey ridinwyoming, i can’t find pricing anywhere on the net for T-post extenders from http://www.tpostextender.com/:no: looks like a real bad sign. maybe it isn’t a valid company and might be a rip-off of some kind or another. i did like resomething though and just made extenders out of cheap pvc pipe that i tied to the tposts with baling wire which was cheaper than getting a bunch of hose clamps and ran my electric fencing around. when the fencer is on, the vibration seems to keep animals away.

I just used the 1.00 a piece step in round posts for electric fence and connected them to the existing fence with zip ties and added the electric fence insulators that are made for them.

Gosh, houseguests, and we didn’t make the beds…

We’ve dropped PVC Pipe over the T-posts and added insulators to them (put the insulators on first.)

I’d use electric tape rather than electrobraid if he might jump. It’s more likely to snap instead of wrap him up like the rope.

If you live in OK you can buy them from lumber2home and ranch in Oklahoma city
