It is sad evidence re depths to which some people stoop.
When I bring a nice show saddle to a show I alaways use a bike lock through to gullet to lock it to the stalls. I know several people who have had all their show clothes stolen. It sucks 
mean people suck
At the Select World show, the windows of several dualy trucks in several hotel parking lots were smashed and trucks looted. Horse shows mean rich people with valuable items.
What happened to tack room dogs? Come to think of it, would not be hard to rig a motion sensor alarm in your tack room overnight. A loud one.
