I picked up my fifth saddle this weekend (yes…I know I have a problem, lol). It’s a Pish Holly Ricotta barrel saddle. I haven’t had a western saddle of my own in about 20 years, since I started riding distance trail. That was my 70’s Simco, handed down from my mom. For 20 years I had one horse, one saddle and one bridle. Within the past two years with my newbie, I’ve bought five saddles, sold one (have my MFT’s custom Marciante in storage. Not selling that one).
Is anyone familiar with this brand, Pish? Just doing some googling, it seems the saddles were all handmade, by a family of saddle makers, including one who used to work for Martin. The saddle itself seems to be well made, solid, and is very comfortable. The older cowboy I board from went over the saddle and declared it to be quality (he has a gazillion saddles but rides primarily in his Roohide). I’ve got some pics the seller sent me before I drove out to look at it. Let me know what you think or if you have any experience with them. I’ve since cleaned and conditioned it and it’s in very good shape, just needed some leather love. I’m posting on a couple sites hoping someone may have some info.
AND…thank you to the COTHers I PM’d before I bought it. I appreciate all of your feedback and enabling my addiction!
