Tack shops west of Dallas?

I’m in the Dallas area on business and would like to stop by a tack shop that has a large selection of western gear and tack. I’m staying just west of Dallas, so something on that side of town would be preferable.

I do dressage and 3 day eventing with my horse, but I thought it would be fun to get him a western bridle as his birthday present.

If you want to come out to Pilot Point, there’s a huge tack shop called Paul Taylors. Do you have a rental car? It would be quite a hike from Dallas, but worth the field trip.

Yeah, I do have a rental car. How far would the drive be in traffic? Looks like 45-50 minutes from where I’ll be working, but not sure about traffic patterns in the area.

Of course I don’t know where you’ll be coming from, but the traffic is likely going to be terrible unless you can get away midday.

Here’s the website.

There is Teskey’s in Weatherford, but it would be a long drive. There is always traffic in Dallas.

Smith Bros.

Smith Brothers is in Denton. FYI.

Ooooh, Paul Taylor  I always stock up on stuff there when I’m in the DFW area. It’s out a ways, but worth the drive, IMO. Not much in the way of english tack, but lots of supplies, and CHEAP! I got a great price on a water tank for my trailer there, and they have the cheapest Ulcerguard around.
You will find a million western headstalls of pretty good quality at a decent price.
Theres also a Dovers at Coit Rd in Richardson, I think.

Another vote for Paul Taylor’s! Great store, definitely worth the drive!

Watch the total sale at Paul’s.

The last several times I went there, I was charged twice for the same item. Not worth the fuel to go back, argue with the Taylors and get my money returned.
