Tack stores ny, pa, NJ?

I’m zipping to NJ next weekend for dog stuff and it just occurred to me that some one might know a tack store I really should check out on the way … my route is from Canada, 1000 island bridge, to Syracuse down I 81 to Andover/ Budd Lake area. I’ll be popping up to Red Hook to check the Eques Art Gallery

Any tack stores or other must stops come to mind?

Thanks so much

Beval’s in Gladstone NJ! Certainly worth a visit, if only to drool over all the lovely things.

Horseman’s Outlet definitely. I was at Beval’s a few months ago and it was a shell of its former self. Hardly any stock, especially tack (of all things). Maybe I hit it at an off time when they are doing inventory or restocking, but even the upstairs gallery was closed off.

If you’ve never been to a Dover Saddlery store, there’s one between both shops above.

Never been. Need one north of those if possible. I am not sure if I’ll be able to eke out an hour of travel time

I’m staying in Budd lake. Travelling to Andover Saturday. Then to red hook Sunday then home

Do not miss horsemen’s outlet. I have never been to a more fulfilling place…ever.

Oh dear lord. Lol

There is Outlaw Outfitters in Andover… but really make the drive to Horsemens Outlet… worth the drive.

Id skip Bevels for reasons listed above, but down the road a bit (maybe 3 miles) is Coach Stop Saddlery, then maybe (10miles) is the Dover store… another 10 miles or so and you are at Horsemens…

If you really wanted to make a day of it, you can hit Skylands Saddlery in Ringos, prob 15 to 20 minute drive south of Horsemens… can you tell I’ve done this a few times LOL!! Fun day out with the ladies!!

But for limited time, drive to direct to Horsemens Outlet… they literally have everything! Picture a huge indoor and barn, and fill it with everything horse! Nirvana

Bevals in Gladstone is just so lovely.

Also, had to chuckle, as I grew up in Budd Lake and nobody, EVER, mentions it anywhere…everyone knows the towns around it, like Hackettstown, so the fact you’re coming from Canada to BUDD LAKE made me laugh. Enjoy!

Ok. I’m going to leave earlier than planned and go straight there I think. Thanks all!

Love that Budd Lake is unknown yet where I’m staying

I’m about 30 minutes away from Budd Lake, in Belvidere. Horseman’s Outlet is about an hour away for you. Get onto Route 31 South and you’re one turn away. They’re having a big event this weekend----and 20% off any one item to boot!

OP, did you go? I went on Sunday and got 20% off my Panacur Power Pack. And a fly mask. They had a tent sale as well.

I did not get enough time to myself when the store was open to go :frowning: but thanks so much for the suggestion(s)
i find a little store north of Andover on 206 on my way home where I found a gift and tick stuff so it might have been better for my pocket book anyhow.
