Tack Stores or Horse Related Things in Dallas/Fort Worth

I’m going to Dallas/Ft Worth/Waco for a week. Any tack stores or horse related things I should check out? I see there’s an ariat store at the stockyards.

@clanter may have some recommendations for the DFW area.

When are you going? The NRCHA World Show starts February 11-24

Next week, I leave tomorrow actually haha

There’s an Ariat store at the stockyards? How have I missed that on my previous visits?!?

I do think it’s a little funny how there’s a whole other world of Ariat cowboy stuff that most of us never see.

Boyd Martin, the Olympic eventer, posted some cute pictures on Facebook recently of his family outing at a PBR stop where they got to meet a bunch of bull riders. And some bulls.

They have a whole western forward fashion line we almost never see too. Sometimes one or two pieces slip into a tack store near me.

Ft Worth Stock Show would be on going then, you could be one of the millions that visit that

The Stockyards is primarily directed as a center for tourists a visit to The Cowgirl Hall of Fame may be better use of time

As for Tack Stores. most that I have visited in North Texas are not saddleries but more in the line of big box resellers. Teskey’s west of Ft Worth in Weatherford is huge, primarily western focused as most tack stores are around here.

There many others, NRS Ranch north of Ft Worth near Decatur

Then along US 377 in Denton area (Aubrey/Pilot Point) are several. Paul Taylor’s is the one I am more familiar with as we knew Paul Taylor who had a remarkable memory as to who had what, even with us being there rarely he always asked about our Morgans, However there are many tack/horse related businesses along US377 (Equine Express’s headquarters is in Pilot Point)

Going to Waco, you need to stop in West, Texas (it is a town north of Waco on I-35) Czech Heritage Capital of Texas… several very good places for kolaches and bake goodies at the interstate. Czech Stop and Kolache House Baking Company are well worth the stop
