Tad Coffin Leather Half Pad Question

I am currently trying to sell my saddle, but I am not exactly sure what I have. One tack seller has made an offer but was clear that her offer was for the saddle and leather pad that I have with it. I thought her offer was already kind of on the lower end, and I am wondering what the value is of the leather pad.

The saddle is a 2001 Tad Coffin and was sold to me with a leather TC half pad. Since I bought the saddle used for a great price to start, I didn’t question the leather pad and just happily accepted it. But now that I want to sell, I am unsure if I am better off selling the pieces separately. Picture here.

I cannot find my pad currently for sale online, hence coming here for assistance. Can anyone weigh in on this? Thank you.

The leather pads are listed often on ebay. Check completed listings for sale prices.

I think I paid close to $100 for the same pad. the older TC pads are, IMO, 1)harder to find and 2) better construction/quality than the newer ones. My trainer wanted one like mine, thought she was buying it but it was a newer one and just seems not nearly as well constructed. I will never sell my TC pads (I have that one and the thicker wither releif) because I find them a great option for a saddle that needs a slight adjustment.

“Tad coffin leather pad” yielded no results in search on eBay.

“Tad coffin pad”

In COMPLETED listings gets you a dozenish hits.

$57 to $150 price range.

I don’t find them all that readily available to buy used. Which is again, why I will keep mine forever.

Tad himself told me to sell on ebay or he will add them to his used inventory if they’re in good shape. What are the specs on the saddle and/or pad you’re selling?

Hmm looks like I was about to get jipped a little. Saddle is a 2001 Gen 1 A5, and the pad looks like it’s in pretty perfect condition… does Tad Coffin buy back old saddles/equipment?

vxf111 thanks, did not know you could see completed listings! :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the tip.

Completed listing are the key. That search sweeps in a much larger time period and shows you both what items were listed for AND what they sold for. So you can tell both what people thought the value was and what the market thought the value was. Much better data than searching current listings.
