Taking Up Breeches

I’ve recently lost a great deal of weight and have half a dozen full seat breeches that are now too large. I paid a good deal of $$ for them, and since they are in great shape, hate to sell them at less than half the price. Has anyone ever had breeches taken up? If so, how did it work?
Thanks

I used to sew professionally, not necessarily clothes. But my advise would be to seek out a very good tailor. Not just the person that does minor alterations at the dry cleaners.

If, lucky for you , you are talking about taking in alot of shape and size you will be looking at basically reconstructing the garment. The trick is not only knowing the needed dimensions, but having the sewing machine equipment to do the proper stitching in the newly shaped areas.

I have taken up the length of breeches and taken in the legs (calf area) of full seats. But if it gets much more creative than that I get very afraid…

Good for you and best of luck on keeping “the new you” around.

Oh how I WISH I had your problem.
