Takt Saddles

Does anyone have experience with Takt saddles or going through the purchase process? Thanks!

I am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about them. They are a fairly new company, just a couple of years old. I am a fitter for them. I actually think I was one of the first fitters for them. The order process should be really easy once you decide what you want. I am assuming you are getting an 06? You just fill out the form and your fitter will submit it. People and horses are loving the saddles and yes I have clients in them for the last couple of years. Plus if you get a new horse, they offer a trade in program.

Thanks Sheltona01! I have an appointment with a fitter, but it’s not for another few weeks. Takt is one of the brands she fits for, and it seems really interesting to me, but I haven’t heard of anyone with direct experience. I’m looking for a wool flocked saddle to replace a Voltaire Palm Beach, a dream to ride in and perfectly balanced for me, but was causing the horse (Thoroughbred) pain after he grew up and changed shape. Looked at some County demos, but they just didn’t feel right to me.

Takt looks promising, and a brand new one is within my budget. The 06 is what I was eyeballing, yes. I don’t want to feel like I’m riding a chair (what County’s felt like) or behind the vertical, and need a long flap, but not forward. I’m really hoping both horse and I will like it.

Which fitter are you working with? They are full customizable, so the flap will not be an problem. They do ride like a french saddle, so you might really be in luck. They really are the best of both worlds, full custom wool flocked saddle.

I sent you a pm  also, I was curious if you might be able to tell me the difference between the 04 and 06? Thanks a bunch!

Sorry, I am not seeing the PM. The 04 is for a very narrow angular horse. Think Tbs. The 06 is more like a warmblood type. The 06 just fits more horses.

Awesome, I appreciate your time! And I see now you replied to my message, which apparently was not a pm lol. Thank you and glad to hear good feedback about the rep! I’ve been through some real crappy saddle reps and am so wary now.

I am contemplating one of their dressage saddles. My fitter is coming back at the end of the month with some other saddles to try. My mare loved the Takt saddle we tried and it fit her nicely, however, I was on the fence about it for me. It was very comfortable for the most part for me, but really need to try the next size up but there was not a demo to try at the time.

Which model did you try SaddleUp158?

Thanks for your reply, SaddleUp! I’m interested to see how it works out for you, so please keep us posted  my fitter is also not coming until the end of the month, so I wait anxiously to sit in one.

I believe it was the TSD-37. The seat was super comfortable but the rise was a bit umm…interfering. I am hoping that some recent changes to my seat and possibly trying an 18" will alleviate my concern for my comfort as my mare really like this saddle.

Yes that saddle can do it. I find you need to move up a seat size in that model since it is so deep. If you normally ride in an 17.5, I would try the 18.

That is what I was thinking, to be honest I typically ride in an 18" but measurements say I can go either way. I definitely prefer the 18" saddles so far.

I haven’t found much information online about these saddles so I was happy to see this thread pop up.

Verasyn. I purchased a dressage saddle TSD 10 from Takt a little over a year ago. My OTTB has been extremely particular about saddles (Bucking bronco with any saddle he didn’t like), and has been difficult to fit. Everything about the process has been wonderful! My guy loves his saddle so much, its’ been challenging finding a jumping saddle he likes. I LOVE my Takt! It fit me perfectly and my guy has been so happy in his. Their customer service is the best out there, hands down!! I’m in the process of seeing if they can build a jump saddle for us, based on how much he loves his dressage saddle. Cannot recommend them enough.

Thanks for chiming in! I’m so glad you have had a great experience and ended up with a saddle both of you love! I was disappointed that the balance wasn’t right for me when I sat in one. That rep only had that one and didn’t seem interested in pursuing Takt further. Gorgeous saddles though. Unfortunately for me, finding a new saddle has been a helluva nightmare. Still trying! Sometimes I feel like giving up and selling the horse though.

I just received my Takt saddle yesterday and love it! My mare has never been so good as in that saddle. I have to say it was worth the purchase price.
