Talk to me about your Appaloosa Sport Horses.

![](f you asked me 12 years ago if I’d be breeding appaloosas, I’d have bet the farm that would not happen! But I took a trip to JG Appaloosas after seeing Waps Rolls Royce, and shortly after bought a mare in foal to WRR. I’ve since had numerous foals by him, a Millenium filly, and a few Wap Spot babies. (Still need me a Bob, Waps Applause kid!!)

Too add to that…I never thought in a billion years I’d have WRR spending half the year at my farm. How lucky am I to have my favorite stallion outside my kitchen window?!

They all move, they all jump, and the best is they are game for almost anything! The babies crave attention, and the riding horses have great work ethic! Right now I’m in between young horses…with nothing to ride. Riding other horses, I realize how nice riding my Waps is. Comfortable, rhythmic, and I know them inside and out…they wear it on their sleeve.

And…finally, the family I’ve been adopted into :). Like it or not, you get a ton of Wap family!! We are all very passionate, to say the least.

Here’s a my 2yo only time thru the jump chute. He gobbled it up! He’s by WRR, out of a Wap Spot mare.

Meggs has produced some fantastic get from her breeding of Waps Rolls Royce to a daughter of Wap Spot. It seems as if each new foal is better then the last. Hard to do when the previous foal was so very nice. She should have showed off 2015’s colt. Then again we get to look forward to 2016’s.

When looking for a Appaloosa Sport Horse the JG Wap line is my first choice. Their movement, temperament and ability have always made them favorites. Of course, I am biased. Out of 6 horses I own, 5 of them are JG Waps. Including Waps Applause.

I don’t have any familiarity with WRR or really any appy sport horse bloodlines, but I can tell you my experience with the breed. My mom had one who’s papers got lost- it’s a shame, really, because that horse was SUPER. Level 9 Show Jumper, 3rd Level Dressage horse, Intermediate Eventer, and 20+ miles endurance horse. He was fairly old though and when my mom got him she really just enjoyed him as a trail horse

My instructor is also training two sport appies this year.
One is just learning to jump. Has a great personality, super sweet and willing. Has a bright future as a hunter derby or high-level dressage horse. The other is just getting started in her hunter/jumper career. Tons of scope, movement and drive. Could easily do the junior jumpers from what I’ve seen.

Basically what I’m saying is that EVERY appy sport horse I have met has had TONS of talent and a great character to boot.
