Hi,
I am looking for a new pair of tall boots and currently have the Ariat Heritage Contour Field boots and don’t love the leather. I need a pair that is a triple threat- acceptable to use in hunter jumper shows, eventing, and dressage. I am interested in the Ariat Vortex boots but do not think they are acceptable in the hunter ring/dressage. I am a bit hard to fit, 9.5//10, full calf and regular/tall height. Any suggestions?
Hi!! Not only am I your size but I also run an online equine tack consignment - Tack Envy Equine Consignment.
I highly HIGHLY recommend Ariat tall boots out of the vortex line- the comfort is unreal.
If you are on a budget- Mountain Horse Fiorentina- hard to break in but gorgeous to wear.
If you want something slightly more traditional what about the Ariat Monaco Stretch? A lot of eventers use the Vortex for all three phases, but the Monaco would probably be more appropriate for the hunters.
Just purchased a pair of the Ariat Heitage Ellipse boots, SO EXCITED! I don’t like the snake skin ones, but they have one with a basic black top. I’m currently waiting for them to arrive.
I am currently in love with the v sport but they’re questionable for rated hunters/dressage: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/ariat-v-sport-zip-tall-boot-11611
Smartpak currently has the Crowne Pro on sale: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/ariat-quantum-crowne-pro-field-zip-boot-9415 That’s a nicer leather than the Heritage. If you already love Ariat then this is the best bang for your buck right now.
Is it the texture and decorative stitching in the leather that’s a problem, or something else? (I wear plain black dress boots for everything, and AFAIK they’re correct for pretty much any show ring anywhere, but if that’s not right anymore I’d like to know! I haven’t been in a hunter ring in ages.)
Have you thought about Ego7? Huge range of sizes and totally hunter-ring acceptable.
I wore the v sport in a recognized dressage show last month. Noone said a word.
The texture is not exactly traditional, although I don’t know how much you can tell from a distance. They don’t shine up the same as regular leather boots.
I’ve been showing recognized events and schooling dressage shows all year in them. I sincerely doubt anyone would say something to you about them, but you know how it is with the unspoken rules of the hunter world. I’ve been out of the hunters for years though so don’t take my word for it!
Thank you everyone for the replies! After a bit of research I think I’ve decided to go custom-liking the LM custom boots.I appreciate all the help!
Parlanti’s!! I’d say get the dress boot and they can go in all the rings.
