Tall boots for wide calves

I am in search for a pair of tall boots for the hunter ring! I am getting myself a pair of custom Fabbri’s, as my calves are wide and won’t fit into off the rack boots. However, the boots I am getting won’t be suitable for the hunter ring (since I’m getting custom ones I gotta add some bling!). So, I’m looking for a pair of tall boots, of decent quality, that won’t break the bank (as the Fabbri’s ain’t cheap ) that will fit a wide calf. Mine measure at about 16.5 inches. I’ve found a few pairs that would likely fit (Ego7, Mountain Horse, Ariats [but I currently have a pair of those and they aren’t super durable], etc.), but I’m just looking for opinions as to what brands people like!

Thanks!!

I’ve posted exactly on this topic, so if you do an advanced search you should be able to find some of the responses.

As I recall, there is only one Ariat model that is available in very wide calf widths and last I checked it was in the ~$300 range. I bought a pair and they barely lasted two years. After reasonable use (daily riding, one horse) they started looking rattier than my previous pair of ariats.

I think tredstep also make a pair of boots in wide widths but those are only available in the UK.

I don’t like the look of the Ovation or Fuller Fillies boots. They assume if someone’s calf is wide that their entire leg is as well which isn’t always true. Plus they have very wide stretch panels which look unattractive.

Tredstep out of Smarkpak have wide calf boots available. Ariat has a sport model that is wide enough. It kind of depends on the size of your feet, smaller feet make finding suitable boots difficult. If you can wear an 8 or above, you will find more options.

I bought the Ariat Stretch. They are fantastic. Comfortable and look great.
