Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve

Any of my jumper breeders know of this stallion? Any comments especially on what he produces. Strengths weaknesses?

There is some good information about him here, towards the end of the page…

I was looking at him last year and at that time there was frozen available in the US. I couldn’t find any US bred offspring though and that made me nervous. I would love to use him.

He is the sire of Holly Shepherd’s ride, Triompf, who has many wins in both the GP jumpers and Hunter Derbys. (Often on the same weekend) Besides his athleticism, “T” has a lovely disposition.

I would love to hear from anyone who has tried breeding with the frozen.
TIA

I know of a farm that bred several a couple years ago. Nice offspring and good jump through the chute. I can give you their name if you PM me.

I know this post is a couple years old but I just came across it. My horse is an offspring of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and let me tell you, he is the most amazing horse I’ve ever had! He is so kind and gentle, he takes all the jokes and never gets angry. Never spooks, bucks, rears or runs off. Will jump anything from anywhere. He is truly a once in a lifetime horse. He was just imported to the US less than a year ago from the Netherlands and after getting out of quarantine he came to my barn for about a week then went straight to a horse show and never batted an eye in both the 3’ pre-greens and children’s hunter. Besides his amazing disposition, he also has a phenomenal jump. He has all the scope in th world. He jumps head between his knees every time. He moves beautifully and has a huge stride. He lopes around the course and jumps with a lot of power. He is super soft in the mouth, frames up well and goes in a rubber bit. He now is doing the junior hunters and 3’6 performance hunters as well as excelling in the hunter derbys. He also on occasion packs around a beginner mom and a 8 and 12 year old who have no problems riding and jumping him. And did I mention he is only 6 years old!!! Since his importation, his full brother and half brother have both been imported and are for sale in Florida. Full brother is more jumper-y (up to the Grand Prix level) but still amazing personality. Half brother could go to the top of all 3 rings. All three of these horses are practically seeing eye dogs. I highly recommend the Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve line.

I had a Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve/Melusa gelding! He had a wonderful disposition and I absolutely loved him!!! Unfortunately I lost him due to EPM. If anyone knows of any other hunter type Tangelo offspring and where they might be located please let me know!!!
