I’m not a barrel racer (have a barrel bred mare that hated it despite very successful siblings - is now a dressage horse) however I have a good friend that has taken multiple ex racers and retrained for barrels with good success. I’ll pass the info along to her. I know ex racers gone on to be reiners, barrel horses, endurance, jumpers, etc. Truly versatile. Yet another way to market them !
