TB Friends? Still around?

It’s that time of year when one thinks of donating to a worthy cause. I have in the past donated to TB Friends, but have not followed them since they went mainly to Twitter. Was thinking about them this evening and when I went to the Twitter site the last entry was December of last year. Did the rescue disband? Did something happen? I always liked Joe’s blogs when he was writing them and always thought very fondly of the rescue. Anyone with any information? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean Old Friends? That is a very worthy organization! I don’t know about TB Friends.

TB Friends was/is in Northern California/Woodland and was/is a popular rescue several years ago. That is the one that I was referring to. I hope that nothing happened to Joe.

As far as I know, Joe & Cathy are fine and still working their hearts out at the ranch. Facebook is TBFriends OTTB Rescue

Phone no. & address are the same.

Yes, still around. Very much miss his daily blogs. He went to Twitter for a few years, but read recently he’s not doing social media. Think they are caring for about 70 horses. Shame the web page is not kept up on available horses.

I’m glad to hear that they are still hard at it. When I tried looking them up, there seemed to be no recent information and I was afraid that something had happened. I’ll try the Facebook page. Thank you.

Anything other than Facebook? Could not access - not public.

You could text Joe at 530-383-2120 - worth a try.

I spoke to Joe briefly a couple of days ago. I wanted to be sure he was still alive and well and TB Friends is still active. Yes, TB Friends is carrying on and Joe is still doing his good work. I sent a donation again this year because he has been one of the most effective rescues and all the money is spent on the horses. 79 adoptions in 2015; 50 as of Sep, 2016 (from old Twitter) The number of horses placed has always been impressive. He rehabs some before offering. He had a supportive network so more horses went on to life after racing.

Social media exposes you to good people and to some very mean people who can make whatever untrue statements they want.

I wish Joe would go back to his blog. It was so engaging and enlightening.

Donations to TB Friends are tax deductable.
