TB pedigree experts? X posted

I am no good at knowing what lines have been known to be better performers in different disciplines (dressage, jumping, vs eventing etc). Does anyone have some insight into this boy’s pedigree?

Thanks in advance!

I’d be a lot more concerned looking at his race record. That last race speaks to something happening.

Any info from seller on any issues? Not to mention the gap in 2015 which admittedly he came back nicely from but the ‘why’s’ remain important.

Is there a way I can view that video? The seller that currently has him uses him as a trail horse. She claims he is sound. But, of course, every seller does

Yep. Twinspires.com

Free sign up. They take a credit card number but never charge it.

Meh, it can be hard to make too much of race records. It may be very significant, or it may not be. If there’s someone to ask, you could ask, but otherwise, the best you can do is evaluate the horse in front of you.

I haven’t had too much contact with Exclusive Quality horses… but his dad, Elusive Quality, has been the sire or broodmare sire of some very good steeplechasers. That is definitely an area where he pops up with higher than average frequency, which was always surprising to me. It’s my personal opinion that your successful steeplechase lines make the best TB eventers because you know they can jump and gallop.

Something I’ve always like about this horse’s broodmare sire, Forestry, is how attractive his offspring tend to be. They tend to have nice necks/shoulders with big hindquarters, often with a lot of chrome. It makes for some nice first impressions.
