OK, opinions please! Silver Tree. He’s currently standing for $2500, which is dirt cheap for racing, but kinda pricey for unproven sport potential. But his pedigree gives me serious pause…

Nice turf horse. I’d want to go see him in person. He does have some great lines for sport up close and did have a long race career. Might throw some good timber horses and if he has decent movement, may be a good cross for event horses on the right mare…I love to see Hawaii and Relic that up close…and Caro. But I would want to see his conformation up close. Too bad he is red…
I thought his sire Hennessy had produced some good sport horses…but would need to do some research.
Nice pedigree. From the photo on the Ocala Stud website, he got the heavy body on spindly legs that is so often characteristic of Northern Dancers. But he was durable even so. He looks uphill to me and also straight legged.
I worked with one Hennessy that was a nice sport horse-- good mover, lovely balanced canter, and jumped like a hunter. He was a fun horse to ride, but probably not an upper level prospect; likely would have topped out at prelim or intermediate, though he was great fun popping over training level stuff and foxhunting. You could canter him all day long with a smile on your face.

Regarding Silver Tree: he looks okay to me. I’m not blown away by the photo, it’s not bad, but it doesn’t jump out at me as a potential sporthorse sire; though I might like him better in person. I’d have to see a lot of his offspring on the ground before I’d make a decision to use him; though I’d likely take a gamble on one of his kids off the track if it looked nice.
I like the breeding on the dam side. Not a fan of Stormcat or the right foreleg confo on the website photo.
He is tight below the knee, but I think that RF looks like maybe he was starting to step forward and had shifted his weight. I sincerely wish they had chosen a better fitting halter, though. I know you don’t ride the head, but it would look a bit more professional if they at least had used one that fit correctly. I agree I’d have to see him in person and watch him move. But the fact that he has both Hawaii and Caro close-up certainly intrigues me…
