TB-Welsh cross?

Probably because he was a baby when this thread started in 2010 lol.

It’s a great cross though! One of my horses is by a TB stallion and out of a cob x. Clever and cheeky but a fabulous jumper.

I’d love to breed a TB mare to North Forks Cardi if I had the funds, or something similar. This thread has me tempted again. There is a Canter mare I’m utterly in love with too…

We had a Welsh pony x Arab - we called her Mini Milton (not really!) but she had beautiful huntery form. Another one in our club showed to the Arab side in her jump - like a helicopter.

Lol! Welsh ponies are known for their agreeable nature. It’s one of the reasons they make such nice children’s mounts. That said, they’re still ponies so no guarantee they’ll actuality be that good.

Honestly, if your daughter is brave then this QP might just be the best thing for her! Rude ponies make little riders into little trainers. As long as the challenge isn’t putting her off of horses and not too many rides are ending in tears or ER visits then let her keep at it.

Your see the good pony jocks ready to step up to a much higher lever with horses while their less rough and tumble peers are still putting around BN and N. I mean, if you’re jumping 2’6” on a pony that’s trying to talk you out of it, what’s 3’ or even 3’6” on a scopey horse? Plus if your kid has some pony busting chops, it’sa lot more likely she’ll be able to ride the 3’6” horse you can afford.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Now back to pony breeding.
