Slewdledo - I know you were on the SAFE board, but I didn’t realize that you actually had one of my boys. I would love any info you would care to pass on.

They are both doing great, well into the transition into dressage.

Thanks!!!

Trot Left where are you from? I knew a couple of those horses, did you know them on or off the track? I also rode one of them as well. Pm me if you want to chat. It is such a small world.

Brocat was donated by his trainer to CANTER New England last year, after he arrived at Suffolk Downs from the WV circuit feeling pretty sore and needing some R & R time.

He was adopted by a WONDERFUL woman who dotes on him and loves his personality - he’s now known as “Brodie” and doing really well, except that he sometimes forgets he’s a gelding!

Here he is saying hi to me when we first met him at the track in '06:

http://www.canterusa.org/newengland/sale/images-salehorses/BrocatHead.jpg

He’s a doll. Talk about well-bred, too! I almost fell over when I looked up his pedigree and saw that he is Lady Tak’s half-brother.

From our first TB, to our recent TB’s whom I hope we have their entire lives:

Whisper Lane (deceased)
Onlyroundintown (deceased)
El Paso Slim (retired wobbler at our home)
Questa Rega (38 year old rescue from Washington)
Tecla (2003 MN Bred filly - seeing if she can race)
So Elegant (2004 MN Bred filly seeing if she can race)
Queen Ofthe Galaxy (2004 FL Bred filly at the track)

We love them all and miss the top two.

Some favorites. . .

Here are a few favorites from my galloping days 20 years ago (how can that be?!?). . .

Save Open Space
Tuneful Tip
Bravaro
Wizard Time
Law Hawk
No Mo’ Melons
Scarlet Wave
Magnanimous

And this is why I love a thread like this! That’s great to hear that he’s found a loving home. I was there when he was born. His mother was one of the daintiest, most petite mares in the barn.

Hello Freebird

Hiya,
Well, this is a sorta-kinda response - are Smoke Him Joe and Joe Also both by Cool Joe? I knew Cool Joe (nice Mid-Atlantic horse, sired a Grade I winner - El Huevos?).

Is Flying Max by Flying Pidgeon? Flying Pidgeon is doing well at Old Friends and is in the Calder Hall of Fame. I have one of his halters
